Nothing matches the cool relief of a perfectly crafted cocktail or brew to round out your summer activities. Our informal survey amongst our seasoned local experts yielded the following recommendations.
PARK CITY

Cosmopolitan and
Bourbon St Manhattan

Ruth's Chris  |  2001 Park Avenue
Try these at the Ruth's Chris bar within Hotel Park City. Great anytime but especially perfect after a round of golf. Bartender Adam will mix up exactly right.

Whiskey Lemonade
High West Saloon  |  703 Park Avenue
Worth the inevitable wait to get in. Trust us!

Powder Buoy Pilsner
Park City Brewing  |  1764 Uinta Way
This drink pays homage to our favorite winter storm forecaster by the same name.

Jalapeño Cream Ale
Wasatch Brew Pub  |  250 Main Street
Either straight out of the can or on tap, this drink is a refreshing reward after shopping your way to the top of the street!

Townie Rosé
Old Town Cellars  |  408 Main Street

Rum Cocktail
Handle  |  136 Heber Ave
The award-winning Rum Cocktail combines the unique pandan fruit with a blend of rums for a sublimely tropical beverage.

Versante Hearth & Bar  |  2346 Park Ave
Located in the Peaks Hotel, Versante Hearth & Bar has a very friendly tribe of bartenders who can mix up numerous fun and unique mixes based on your preferences.
HEBER VALLEY

Long Island Iced Tea
Back 40 Ranch House Grill  |  1223 US-40
Lovers of robust Long Island Iced Tea will be surprised at how delicious (and potent) this beverage is at Back 40 Ranch House Grill. Set against the backdrop of Mt. Timpanogos, we highly recommend enjoying it from the rear deck with majestic views of the horses grazing in the meadow below. Your designated driver will enjoy the selection of homemade Kombuchas here.

Preacher Man
Midway Mercantile  |  99 E Main St
As a fresher, spicier, and more complex version of a Paloma. We recommend sipping it in the shade of the lovely, covered patio out back. Bartender Kyle is a superb mixologist.

Bombegranate Sour or Pilsner
Heber Valley Brewing  |  501 N Main St
Both drinks are ideal after a hard mountain bike ride in Dutch Canyon or on the WOW Trail. Try the Wet Fly IPA after fishing the blue-ribbon waters of the Provo River.

AT-HOME COCKTAILS

Ranch Water   This combination of Topo Chico soda, your favorite tequila, and fresh lime juice is clean, simple, easy to make and uber refreshing. Salt the rim to spice it up. Rumor is you can’t get a hangover but don’t trust us on that!

New Age Wine Over Ice   With lime, it's the perfect, simple quencher on a sweltering day, best enjoyed on your shaded deck or patio.
MOCKTAILS & NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

Cooling off with a frosty local IPA or cocktail can deliver a quick quench with a kick, but with so much to do around here, you may prefer a non-alcoholic refreshment route.

Drinking Chocolates at Ritual Chocolate Cafe
1105 Ironhorse Drive  |  Park City
Odd as it sounds, Ritual's Drinking Chocolates are a refreshing "recovery drink" after a long bike ride.

Quench It
760 S. Main Street  |  Heber
This enormously popular soda shack in Heber offers new twists on popular sodas blended with a variety of other fun flavors.

Green Mojito
Try this one at home! This is an all-in-one, zesty, blended mocktail and detoxifier made with coconut, lime zest, limes, kale, pineapple, and agave!

As temperatures soar, there’s nothing like the sound and spray of a natural waterfall to provide immediate, misty relief and a chill, Zen vibe. Within an hour’s drive, you can escape to find many distinct types of falls here in the Wasatch Back.
Cascade Springs
Closest to Park City is Cascade Springs, a lovely boardwalk/trail experience perched above Midway. The access road has been recently paved, making it a perfect cruise on your motorcycle or electric bike. The fiercely fit can reach it on a road bike, but beware - it's a steep climb! There’s a nice parking area, and the artesian springs with naturally terraced cascades and pools are just a short walk from the parking area, making it ideal for youngsters or seniors.

Stewart Falls
If you continue on the Alpine Loop Road towards Sundance Resort, you’ll wind your way down to the Aspen Grove Trailhead (parking fee applies) to access the 4-mile loop hike to Stewart Falls. This forested trail is also ideal for birding, and dogs are welcome with some off-leash areas along the route.

Provo Falls
If you prefer to actually get in the water, Provo Falls are located in the Uinta Mountains, east of Kamas on the Mirror Lake Highway/Hwy 150; about 24 miles from the traffic light in Kamas. There are three sets of falls, and with grippy water shoes, you can ascend the falls from the boulder size rocks that line the water’s edge, making it an ideal experience for older kids and adults. Dogs are permitted on leashes. The parking lot is large and visible, so it’s easy to find.

Cold Stone Creamery is situated next to the movie theater at Redstone in Kimball Junction, where hand-crafted, super-premium ice cream is mixed to order on frozen granite with your choice of additives, including candy, cakes, fruits, nuts, and more. Everything is expertly blended into your base flavor right in front of you.

Spin Cafe   220 N Main Street  |  Heber
Spin Café offers a daily selection of delicious, made-from-scratch gelatos. The owner/chef, Vincent, incorporates fresh ingredients, such as house-roasted hazelnuts, Belgian chocolate, local peaches, salted caramel, Madagascan vanilla beans, and Saigon cinnamon. For an extra kick, try the Affogato, which marries your choice of gelato with a shot of espresso.

Corner Sweet Treats  |  94 South Main Street  |  Heber
Corner Sweet Treats is located next to the Avon Movie Theater and offers delicious homemade ice cream and candies in a classic “soda fountain” setting.  Call first as hours vary.

Fill 'Er Up Coffee Station  |  201 E Main St  |  Midway
People travel from all over to visit this repurposed former gas station. It's hard to miss, as there is an old Volkswagen beetle and classic car protruding from the building! In addition to their full selection of Italian Cream Soda’s and cold coffee brews, they offer a full selection of deliciously rich Bees Knees ice cream flavors, with special tiny tables for the kids.

Summit Pizza & Ice Cream  |  80 S Main Street  |  Kamas
Hard ice cream aficionados will love the mouthwatering offerings here. And the specialty pizzas and cheese doodles are pretty good as well!

Oakley Polar King  |  4657 UT-32  |  Oakley
The best shakes in the Wasatch Back can be enjoyed at the Oakley Polar King, one of those classic ice cream and burger shacks that harkens back to your childhood vacations.

Johnny Lingos Hawaiian Shave Ice
Currently on Main Street in Coalville

Our recommendation for the best shave ice/snow cone in Summit County is Johnny Lingos Hawaiian Shave Ice food truck. This is a great stop on your way back from tubing on the Weber River. Check out their Instagram at @johnnylingosice to confirm their daily location and hours.

Splash Pads!

The splash pad by the entrance of the Basin Rec Field House at Kimball Junction will provide immediate relief to your overheated little ones.

Another great splash pad is at the Aquatic Center at Wasatch High in Heber.

Movies in the Park

Basin Recreation, in partnership with Park City Library and Park City Film, will be offering movies in the park at the Park City Library Field starting at dusk. When the sun goes behind the ridgeline, temps always cool off by at least 10 degrees. Don’t forget your blanket, low chairs, and popcorn!

Ice Skating
Park City Ice Arena  |  600 Gilmour Way

Ice skating during summertime at the indoor Park City Ice Arena is a great way to experience a big cool down during the heat of the afternoon. This immensely popular rink by the National Ability Center offers public skating most afternoons. They offer skate rentals, and the Zamboni is omnipresent, ensuring smooth ice during every session.
Timpanogos Caving

Timpanogos Cave National Monument is a limestone cave system below majestic Mount Timpanogos that offers a wonderful and chilling exploration of the magnificent geology of the Wasatch Mountains. There are numerous cave tour options, most popular of which is the Centennial Lantern Tour. It’s always cool, averaging 43 - 48° F regardless of whether the temperature outside is nearing 100°.
Remember to bring a light puffy or a few layers for the adventure. Located in Alpine, Utah just on the other side of Mt. Timp, we highly recommend the scenic drive on the Alpine Loop Road from Cascade Springs in Midway.
Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is any form of treatment using freezing or near freezing temperatures for therapeutic purposes. Most athletes understand the benefits of icing sore muscles, and there is now a growing movement to use whole body cryogenic therapy to reduce inflammation. Why not get together a group of friends, siblings, or your family, and schedule a Wim Hof session to learn about the benefits of taking ice baths? They help with inflammation, weight loss, and achieving a sense of grounded mindfulness.
