Summary of the June 20, 2022 Session Meeting
The Session approved a motion that should the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention upgrade or downgrade its weekly covid-19 community level rating for Howard County, CMPC will automatically adhere to the CDC’s accompanying guidance on wearing masks. A mask mandate will be instituted in the building when our community level is rated as high; conversely, the mandate will be dropped when our community level is rated as medium or low. The congregation will be immediately notified by email whenever a change to the church’s mask policy occurs, and the church’s website and signage will be adjusted as needed.

In other business:
The Session approved a motion from the Christian Education Committee on behalf of Boy Scout Troop 75 to allow them to start a troop for girls in response to input from Scout leaders and parents. Troop 75 will become Troop 75B for boys and Troop 75G for girls. Each troop will have its own scoutmaster and meet separately on the same night at CMPC to permit them to share resources.

Share Your Musical Gifts This Summer!

Please contact Music Director, Joy Exner (joyousmusic@yahoo.com) to sign up. There is a date just for you! Please share your gifts with us!

CMPC to host Presbytery of Baltimore
Christ Memorial will have the distinct privilege of serving as the host for the Presbytery of Baltimore’s Gathering on Thursday, September 8th (approximately 9:00 am to 3:00 pm). This is the first time CMPC has hosted a Presbytery meeting in many years. To make the day run smoothly we will need a small army of volunteers. We will need help setting up the building the day(s) before. We will need people to help direct parking. We will need folks to serve as guides around the building. We will need volunteers to help serve lunch. And we will need even more. Please mark your calendar now and plan to help us make CMPC as hospitable as possible on September 8. More details to follow.

The Stewardship Committee presents – Did you know?
Greetings! Once a month the Stewardship Committee hopes to share some interesting information about the work of Christ Memorial Presbyterian Church that is made possible by your gifts. We thank you for your financial support and hope that you can see God at work in our congregation.

Did you know... that each summer CMPC hosts Vacation Bible school for children pre-K through 4th grades? It is a fun-filled week of community building and worship for our youngest members. VBS is an excellent way to bring our children together to nurture their faith and relationship to the church community during a season when there are no school or LOGOS activities. It is also a great way to introduce families from outside the church to CMPC and to welcome them into our wonderful community!

Vacation Bible School relies on your generous contributions to purchase the VBS curriculum and music from the Christian Education budget and to obtain craft and science experiment supplies, decorations, snacks and other needed items to make the week magical for our participants.

VBS is such an exciting, memorable and enjoyable experience for all involved. Our children, families and volunteers gain so much from their time at VBS. It helps to strengthen bonds formed during the year in LOGOS, encourages focus on growing faith and is so much fun! It engenders a sense of belonging to our church family that brings us all together.

The Stewardship Committee would like to send a special thanks to the Christian Education Committee, Heather Gallagher, Cordelia Lamb and Julie Nienhuis for their strong, creative and dedicated leadership of VBS and to all of the wonderful volunteers who make the week possible each year! Without you and the much-appreciated financial contributions from CMPC members, it would not be possible.

Do you want to help with VBS, but can't be here in person? Check out our Amazon wish list to make a contribution.
