Welcome back!
What comes to mind when you hear the name ‘the Pandora Papers’?
From art traffickers to oligarchs, to big business polluters and crashed housing markets, to royals and officials from across the political spectrum, the stories the Pandora Papers encompasses have touched every corner of the world in some of the most unexpected ways.
But for even those of us who were part of the sprawling investigation (let alone you, our dedicated readers!), the sheer volume of explosive findings can be overwhelming — it's hard to know where to begin.
To help make sense of it all, we’ve decided to put together a grand tour – right here in your inbox. In a new curated email series, we walk readers through the most explosive Pandora Papers stories and bottom-line findings of the biggest journalism collaboration in history.
Over the course of two weeks after signing up, you’ll get the Cliffs Notes on how the offshore system operates and endures, the ways in which it enables corruption and inequality around the globe, and its critical impact on everyday people. In just six emails, readers will develop a deep understanding of the international shadow economy supporting the world’s wealthy and well-connected.
The email tour will also take you behind-the-scenes of reporting that’s garnered some of the highest accolades in journalism. In just the last week alone, the Pandora Papers has been honored with the Society of Publishers in Asia’s Carlos Tejada Award for Excellence in Investigative Reporting, as well as a Dateline Award for business reporting from the DC chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
We hope you’ll sign up and find the email tour helpful in distilling your knowledge of the vast but shadowy world of offshore finance – or recommend it to a friend who might be interested in learning more about the Pandora Papers and its still unfolding impact around the world.
