SANTS acknowledges the Traditional Owners across South Australia and their continuing connection to land, culture and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

Kaurna Elders reflect on Wangayarta reburials

The Wangayarta Memorial Park was created specifically to rebury Kaurna ancestorial remains being returned from museums and universities. Last Tuesday, the Kaurna community reburied ancestors that were taken from Adelaide's western suburbs.

Innamincka light show


Yandruwandha Yawarrawarrka Traditional Land Owners Aboriginal Corporation and South Australian Native Title Services present the initiative 'Padla Ngalungga Kinipapa' (Cooper Creek, Our Country).

The inaugural light and sound installation will be held during the July school holidays at Innamincka, creating an immersive cultural experience that celebrates the traditional lands of the Yandruwandha Yawarrawarrka people across south-west Queensland and north-east South Australia.

SA Landscape Strategy

South Australia’s landscape boards, peak bodies, local and state government agencies, and other landscape management stakeholders have worked together to develop the strategy.

The document outlines seven priorities for the landscape boards and their communities to consider in their land management practices.

Aboriginal Way asked the co-chair of First Nations of South Australia Aboriginal Corporation to explain how each priority could be implemented using Indigenous knowledge.

Native title services 

SANTS is the native title service provider for South Australia as recognised under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth).

We work with Aboriginal South Australians to secure the recognition of native title and to establish and run native title corporations. 

Our aim is to achieve positive and lasting social, cultural, environmental and economic change for traditional owners.

NAIDOC Week Events

National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (July 3 to 10), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

First Nations of South Australia Aboriginal Corporation (FNSAAC)

The First Nations of SA Aboriginal Corporation (FNSAAC) is the peak body for First Nations across South Australia made up of representatives of Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs). FNSAAC has the authoritative voice on issues relating to South Australian Aboriginal people's heritage and wellbeing. To sign up as a PBC or find out more, please contact melissam@nativetitlesa.org.

The National Native Title Council

The National Native Title Council (NNTC) is the peak body for the native title sector. Through the native title system, the Council advocates for the rights and interests of all First Nations people. SANTS encourages PBCs to become a member, as an opportunity to add their voices to the national dialogue on issues impacting native title rights and interests.
