The heart of worship is celebration! We celebrate who God is, what God has done for us in Jesus, and the new Spirit-filled lives we get to live because of it. By taking the time to celebrate God’s gifts to us  — gifts of diversity, unity, promise, and new life – we are attuning ourselves to the good things in life, so that, even in times of struggle and hardship, we can be sustained.

~ “Diversity: the art of thinking independently together.” Malcolm Forbes

A lot can be said about us through the foods that we eat or the traditional meals our families cherish. Jesus spent much of his ministry about the table.

If you wanted to serve a visitor a meal that would help them to understand your cultural heritage, what meal would you serve? What does the meal tell us about you? How do you encourage fellowship around the meal and the conversations that go with it?

Be a Blessing,
Pastor Scott

Fellowship Time
Starting on Sun‌day, Ju‌ly 10, we will once again have a Fellowship Time immediately after the 9 A‌M Worship Service. Going forward, we will have a Fellowship Time on the second Sunday of every month.

Fellowship Time is held in Fellowship Hall and is a time of light refreshments and conversation; a time to catch up with each other and welcome visitors. On Sun‌day, Ju‌ly 10, we will take this opportunity to welcome our new Pastor, Rev. Scott Clifton. Please join us!
Thursday Bible Study
Pastor Scott leads this bible study every Thu‌rsday at 11‌:00 ‌A‌M. The study is based on Nicky Gumbel's "Bible in One Year" reading plan. This study is designed to encourage you to read through the entire Bible in 20‌22. Each week is standalone, so you are welcome to join the study at any time.

More detailed information about the
"Bible in One Year" reading plan can be viewed HERE.

The study takes place at DeBows in Fellowship Hall and you may join the bible study via Zoom if you wish. The Zoom link is found in the church calendar for that meeting date. Also, check the church calendar on the website for any schedule exceptions. You may access the church calendar by clicking HERE.
Worship Through Giving

We are thankful for your faithful support during these challenging times. Your generous giving has been vital in maintaining our ability to cover expenses and continue our church ministries. You may continue giving in-person at the indoor worship service, by sending your offering check directly to the church, or by using the church online giving feature found in the footer of the church website. It is easy, secure, and appreciated. --- Thank You

If so inspired, you may give online now, by clicking here.

Food Pantry Ministry
The DeBows Food Pantry is open on the 2nd & 4th Monday each month, 6‌-8pm. The next Food Pantry distribution is M‌onday, Ju‌ly 11.

DeBows uses an "Appointment Only" system to distribute the food. People can make an appointment by calling 848-373-8844.

Please note: participants need to call for an appointment by 5‌:00 P‌M on the S‌aturday prior to the scheduled food pantry day. This gives the Food Pantry volunteers time to prepare the food for distribution. "Thank You" for your cooperation.

Please contact Jill Palmer if you need further information or would like to volunteer to help with the Food Pantry ministry.
DeBows in Mission
--- JULY & AUGUST
UMCOR Hygiene Kits

DeBows will be supporting UMCOR during July & August via their Hygiene Kit program. While Hygiene Kits for UMCOR is a year-round mission activity for our church, we are focusing on Ju‌ly & August because hurricane season is fast approaching. But disasters can happen anytime, and these kits are desperately needed when they occur. Please continue to collect the items needed to make up the kits. A box for completed kits and instructions on how to put it all together is outside the Fellowship Hall. Let’s fill that box!

Our UMCOR Hygiene Kit outreach activity helps to meet the ever-increasing demand for relief items. The Hygiene Kits we put together are forwarded to UMCOR for deployment to those most in need. This has been very successful and rewarding ministry in past years.

Along with collecting items to build kits, we will also be accepting monetary donations. If you wish to donate, please mark clearly on your check or envelope that it is for UMCOR. Each Hygiene Kit is valued at $12, but any and all donations will be greatly appreciated and will be sent to UMCOR along with the hygiene kits.

Please click HERE for more information and a detailed list of items needed to complete the hygiene kits. You will also be able to view a short video of Anita speaking about the need for this mission activity.
Music Ministry

DeBows UMC is blessed with talented people who love to praise God. We pray for each other and give back to the Lord the blessings we’ve received. We welcome newcomers to join our music ministry and share and grow their talent for God’s glory. Please contact Grayce by email at music@debowsumc.org for any questions or to discuss opportunities to participate in our music ministry.

Chime Choir — Rehearses Su‌nday morning 8:‌30 to 8:‌45 A‌M and rings the introit to worship on Su‌nday morning (except on Revival Su‌nday). New members are always welcome. Ability to sight read music and prior experience not necessary. Ability to be present and have fun very important!

Praise Band — (Weekly practices will resume in September) --- Rehearses Tuesday nights at 7:‌00 P‌M and plays a five-song set once a month for Revival Sunday, usually the last Sunday of the month. Check email and church calendar for exceptions. All instruments welcome.

* More information about the DeBows music ministry can be viewed here. Modification or cancellation of specific dates will be communicated by Grayce via email. Please check email for any cancellations before coming out.
