Dear all,
As we look forward to the summer break there are a number of opportunities for young people to be involved in volunteering during the holidays.
Firstly there are the Summer Family Fun events every Tuesday and Thursday from 10.00 – 11.30am where any young person can come and help set up for the morning and also help with running the activities. If your son/daughter would like to help with any of these days then just drop me and email and let me know.
The second opportunity is during the Community Outreach week which is from Monday 8th – Friday 12th August. For the main Holiday Club we have created 20 places for young people of secondary school age who wish to serve on the team. We are looking for young people who have a desire to serve on the team and work alongside the adult team members as they work with the children. There will be an opportunity for them to get involved in different aspects of the holiday club should they wish to serve on the team. As we only have 20 spaces this year we would encourage you to discuss this with your son/daughter before signing them up. If you have a son/daughter that has left secondary school who would like to serve on the team then please drop me an email and let me know.
It would be really helpful if we could have the team in place by the end of the month so that we can go into the holidays knowing that we have everyone in place. If you could therefore be kind enough to reply directly to me (Adrienne@newtonmearnsbaptist.org.uk) if your son or daughter would like to be involved in either the Family Fun Events or the Holiday Club.
