The Great Teacher-Powered Get Together, Nov 4-6, Minneapolis

NEW: The Great Teacher-Powered Get Together breakout sessions

Breakouts for the 2022 conference are here!

These sessions are the heartbeat of our event. Here’s a few we’re excited to showcase (since we can’t include them all like we wanted to):

Café con y por estudiantes

Escuela Verde in Milwaukee hosts a student-run and operated cafe—a program developed during the pandemic to engage students during this difficult period. Hear how Newline Café gives students entrepreneurial experience and creates an intergenerational gathering place for creative community connections.

Presented by Cynthia Gonzalez, Jeremy Ault, and Escuela Verde advisors

Tilt A Whirl: Elevating the Power of Autonomies to Transform School Communities

An interactive session spotlighting two autonomous school sites—one elementary and one secondary—that have leveraged their autonomies as Pilot Schools within LAUSD to break down barriers and to propel outcomes for Black and Brown students.

Presented by Letitia Johnson-Davis, EdD from the Center for Powerful Public Schools, CA

Measuring What Matters: Developing Teacher Leadership Through a Multi-Data Point Evaluation System

Maricopa County Regional School District has worked alongside teacher-leaders to develop multiple tools to support the development and measure the progress of their practice. Learn how these tools have clarified expectations and helped solidify the vocabulary associated with what Maricopa is working hard to accomplish.

Presented by Laurie King, Adrian deAlba, and Darcy Moody from the Office of the Maricopa County School Superintendent team
