Our Tuesday speaker will deliver good news
about non-profit journalism's growth

We’ll be joined on the next publisher call by Calvin University assistant professor Jesse Holcomb, who will give us a preview of the latest annual survey by Institute for Nonprofit News.

The survey charts the continued revenue growth in the not-for-profit news sector as well as the surge in the number of local news outlets that have launched in the past five years. The full results will be released in July.

Jesse is a researcher specializing in the study of American news audiences and journalists. In addition to serving as the lead data analyst on the INN survey since 2018, he is a principal adviser to the Knight-Gallup Trust, Media and Democracy research project. He was previously associate director of journalism research at the Pew Research Center.

In addition to reviewing the INN survey, Jesse will answer questions about other trends in media  including those highlighted in last week’s Pew Center survey of 12,000 U.S.-based journalists.
