AFMW is affiliated with Medical Women’s International Association, an association of medical women and students representing women doctors from all six continents and eight regions. MWS ACT and Region Fundraising Dinner 24 June 2022 headerREMINDER - MWS ACT EVENT All AFMW members and friends are invited to attend the MWS ACT & Region Fundraising Dinner Friday 24 June at the Harmonie German Club Narrabundah. Even if  you can’t attend, please donate - MWS ACT does a lot of great work for the wider community and provides bursaries for medical women. Please bring gold coins and cash for entry to the competitions. Enjoy the fun with a Quiz with a German theme, Best Fairy Tale costume, Wine tasting competition, Auction and Raffles. NAIDOC Week: Purple Bush Leaves Medicine Bursary Celebration announcementREMINDER - 5 JULY: During NAIDOC week, there will be a joint celebration for the 2021 Purple Bush Medicine Leaves Bursary Recipients in Brisbane on Tuesday 5 July 2022. We will also be celebrating the launch of the inaugural 2022 NCWQ - QMWS Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Bursary sponsored by Mater. All members of the AFMW are warmly invited to participate in this event, either virtually or in person. Places to attend in person are limited however Zoom attendance is unlimited. Circle of Kindness- AFMW Fireside Chats event details for 28 July 202228 JULY EVENT: As President of AFMW it gives me great pleasure to invite you to the next session in our new regular monthly sessions "Circle of Kindness: AFMW Fireside Chats". Our next 'chat' will be held Thursday 28 July, 2022 7-8PM AEST, hosted by Dr Elysia Robb, VMWS and job share advocate. The AFMW Fireside Chats are a safe space filled with kindness and trust where you can meet other medical women and talk about the challenges you're facing. Membership is open to registered female medical practitioners, non-registered female medical practitioners & medical students. New members welcome.
