Watch Road Recovery Trax Program Finale Performances of creative works by our amazing young people made possible through our non-profit’s Creative Staff Mentors from the entertainment industry engaging Youth Clubhouses operating under the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS). Road Recovery’s action-driven Trax Program was created to give opioid affected youth and young adults A VOICE TO BE HEARD when they find themselves stuck in isolation and cut off from their support networks.

The Department of Justice (DoJ) / Office of Justice Programs (OJP) / Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) awarded funding to Road Recovery for 2 grants ‘Category 5: Statewide and Regional Mentoring Initiative for Youth Impacted by Opioids and Drug Addiction’ and ‘Opioid Affected Youth Initiative’ (OAYI) which allowed our non-profit to launch seasonal Trax Programs in all corners of New York State. Road Recovery’s Trax Program is also supported by an array of grass roots and educational partners including statewide agencies overseeing the Youth Clubhouses, Youth Voices Matter NY, Friends of Recovery-NY, MENTOR, and NYU Silver School of Social Work. Furthermore, Road Recovery has again partnered with OASAS to service at-risk youth and young people in recovery engaging their statewide Youth Clubhouses located in all ten empire state regions. The statewide Youth Clubhouses provide a restorative, non-clinical environment for young people whose lives have been disrupted by addiction to connect with others in recovery. Clubhouses are built on a core of peer-driven supports and services that help young people progress in their recovery, by encouraging a drug-free lifestyle. Road Recovery works closely with staff from each statewide Youth Clubhouses who provide multi-level adult support and supervision for both our Creative Staff Mentors and youth engaging Trax Programs.
Trax Programs offer young people the opportunity to build healthy networks during challenging times, helping them avoid self-destructive or risky behavior. The program’s goal is to empower and inspire them through self-expression and creativity while teaching invaluable life skills. Having ownership of tangible results provides young people the opportunity to develop self-esteem and the communication and life skills needed to withstand negative pressures of life and their peers. The Trax Program is led by creative mentors; entertainment-industry professionals who share their own experiences dealing with adversity and bring inspiration, knowledge and guidance to the participants. Road Recovery works in conjunction with the staff of youth clubhouses to help them plan, create and present their own live concert events and/or high-quality music/video recording projects.
