The yoga world is full of reference to the solstices. I've never been one to get as hyped up about it as my yogi friends up, except to recognize the the shift in the time/planetary continuum.  And here we are...it's almost upon us. 

I found this short Solstice Encyclopedia in images from National Geographic an interesting reminder on it's significance. Check it out here....

To note this week....all practices ended up being about 45min long due to some conversations we were having prior to class. If you'd like, I'll open up the zoom room 10-15min earlier so we make sure to get the full hour of practice in and still have time to chat. Replay to this email if you have any thoughts on that.

"What’s New This Week"

  • Mudra: Abhaya = Fearlessness. Notice how the movement of the breath moves the hands in this one. Feel it? I like to think of the top hand pushing away fear and the bottom one ushering in feeling safe and grounded. 
 
  • Breath: 6 count in, 6 count out
 
  • Chair Yoga: "Fearless Flow Warrior Series" 45min --We flow through a variety of Warrior Poses both in seated and revisit them in standing. Feel how different they might feel in either position and what that might be good for in any given moment. 
 
  • Strong & Steady: "Hip & Shoulder Rotations" 45min--This practice will address the Rotator Cuffs of both the shoulder and the hips. But think less of the fancy name and how nice it will make your body feel. 
 
  • Therapeutic Yoga: "Fearless Balance" 45min--Bring your block and a strap to try out Warrior III balance at the wall.
