CITY UPDATES

Broad Street Market Sign Dedication
Multiple storms have damaged the sign considerably in recent years. However, thanks to a tremendous fundraising effort, the market was able to refurbish and reinstall the sign. Mayor Williams and HACC President gave remarks and Lighten Up Harrisburg’s Matt Krupp.

Learn more about the city's July 4th Food Truck celebrations, including a massive food truck festival and fireworks show.
WORLD AFFAIRS COUNCIL SUMMER INTERNS VISIT CITY HALL
On June 16th, City Government Center welcomed interns from the World Affairs Council of Harrisburg to speak with City of Harrisburg leaders, including Mayor Wanda Williams and Police Commissioner Thomas Carter. They also enjoyed having lunch in the Mayor's cabinet room.

AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN FUNDS
On June 14th, City Council approved more than $15.6 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds requested by Harrisburg Mayor Wanda R.D. Williams. $5.5 million to go towards the replacement of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) unit for the public safety building. $1.26 million in bonuses will go to members of the Harrisburg Bureaus of Fire and Police employed by the city before the start of 2022. The remaining $8.8 million will go towards revenue lost in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
