Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who generously donated money and time to the 2022 Virtual Run, Walk & Roll 5K for CACNA1A New Life Lutheran team. We were able to raise $2375 (making our team the 8th highest fundraisers), share awareness of New Life and CACNA1A with a broader network of friends and colleagues through our social media, and our 5K participation on the land was full of fun and love!

Planning for Winter at New Life
As our winter tent is getting weathered, its time for us to consider what winter structure would work best for New Life for the next few years.

First, we would like written feedback from you about your physical needs on the property, and how you experienced Winter this past year.  Consider the weather, bathrooms, mobility, as well as noise, beauty, and your physical comfort.  Please send your feedback to Pr. Candice by August 1.  It will be shared with the Leadership Team in preparation for making decisions about this coming Winter.

Second, we are updating our New Life Values to prepare for the next phase of physical improvements on the Land.  Pr. Candice is gathering a team of five people to help the whole congregation refine and clarify our values.  This exciting and Spirit-led process will help guide our development as an outdoor church for the next chapter of our story.  Please let Pr. Candice know if you are interested in participating.

OPPORTUNITIES TO BE INVOLVED

Outreach Giving Opportunities
Food Donations: Summer  means it's time for fun and relaxation, but for many families it means difficult times ahead.  Helping Hands Food Pantry experiences low donations and higher need during the months of June, July, and August. With school out, many children in our area no longer receive  lunch and/or breakfast each day.  This puts a strain on families to provide enough for every family member. New Life has a long history of giving food to Helping Hands. All of the produce grown in our garden goes to the pantry. The NL children made handprints to decorate our donation bin. Look for the container where we enter the sanctuary area. Let's fill that container up every single Sunday!

Upcoming Outreach Service Opportunities
June 25th is Pride Day in Dripping Springs, with an all-ages rodeo event at Ranch Park from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm. New Life will have an information booth at the event to share the love of Christ with our neighbors. If you are interested in helping to staff the booth, please email Shalon at zeferjahn@gmail.com. You can also sign up to volunteer at the event or register to attend here: http://www.prideofdrippingsprings.org .

RR 12 Clean-Up: We will have another RM 12 clean up Saturday morning, date TBD and dependent on the weather.

Adult Sunday School & Godly Play
Summer break--no Adult Sunday School and Godly Play--will resume in the fall, after Labor Day.

Help On The Land
Look at the land tasks list on the New Life website to see what needs to be done. You can go anytime. Please let Michael Meinecke know if something is done or needs to be added (his contact info is in the directory) -- if you see anything unusual, please let Michael know, so he can coordinate efforts and respond to questions. Please bring any needed tools and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Lutheran Disaster Response
Lutheran Disaster Response is on the scene in Ukraine, and in Eastern Europe, offering assistance with the growing refugee crisis.  They provide critical assistance where the world is hurting the most.  This is a concrete way you can help make a difference.  See elca.org/disaster, for more information and how to donate. Contact Tess Shearer for more info. Let us pray for peace.

Newsletter Items & Sunday Announcements
If you have an item for the Friday weekly newsletter, please email newsletter editor Bonnie Gonzalez -- by Wednesday evening if possible!

WEATHER POLICY
We worship outdoors year-round. Please dress for your comfort. When possible, we hold worship under the oaks. In case of persistent rain or cold temperatures (below 55°F) anticipated at the time of worship, we will be in our tent and may have the sides up and heaters on in the winter. See more information on our severe weather policy here.

If there is active lighting in the area, we may delay until a storm passes or cancel worship for that week since the tent does not provide adequate shelter. When possible, someone will be present to let people know, and we may be able to offer car blessings. We will post on the New Life website and Facebook page if worship is delayed or canceled. Please check those places if there are storms in the area.
New Life is an outdoor worshipping church that is active in the Dripping Springs community, serving our neighbors. We pray and do Bible study out in the community, and we care for a piece of the Texas Hill Country which is open to our neighbors for walking, praying the labyrinth, watching wildlife, etc. We worship every Sunday at 9:00 a.m. We do Bible study after worship during the school year, except about once every other month when we make community service part of our liturgy and go out to build relationships with our neighbors together. We welcome you to be part of this community and our mission to share God’s love out in creation and out in our community.
