Finally - we are getting back to normality and it's great to be writing this newsletter with the excitement of what the remainder of 2022 and beyond holds in store! Importantly, it means we can hold our events and activities again; something we've all sorely missed. We're excited to confirm that the St. Andrew's Ball will go ahead on November 26! We hope you can join us for what is Singapore's favourite event. The link below will take you directly to the booking website.
Earlier this month, celebrations were held around the world for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee and Singapore was no exception. On June 2nd I was invited by L-Energy (one of the global Jubilee sponsors), to light the official Beacon in Singapore and read the Royal Proclamation. It was an honour to participate in the celebrations of such a remarkable lady who has witnessed, experienced and at times endured, world events for 70 years with unwavering dignity. The evening was supported by Lion City Pipe Band and Irish Inspirational Dance.
If you would like to join the Society Committee we'd love to welcome you! In addition to Committee Members we are currently looking to fill the office bearer roles of Secretary and Treasurer. Please get in touch if you're interested.
I'd like to thank Neil Morton for his role as golf convenor as he transitions out and passes the baton (or clubs...) to Ian Hamilton. Neil & Ian hope to hold the Chieftain's Cup in the coming months.
Our dancing group have also been holding some small gatherings and I would like to thank Peter Tan, Margaret Alvarez and David White for leading the dancing. The group will pause for summer and we expect to announce a permanent home for dancing and recommence in August. We will of course have some pre-ball sessions to prepare us for a great night of dancing at the Ball!

We look forward to seeing you soon!
