Toilets being refurbished - Closed until 4th July
The Cherry Tree Wood Toilets will be closed for the next two weeks.They are being refurbished. All the layers of old paint are being scraped off and the walls and floors repainted. New toilet seats are going in where needed. Guttering is being repaired. We are looking forward to completion and some reasonable quality toilets once more.

Covering the period from the Romans to modern day the History of Cherry Tree Wood booklet will soon be on sale in the cafe for £5, All proceeds are going to the Friends.Thanks to the cafe for that. Alternatively you can order direct from the Friends by emailing us at friendsofcherrytreewood@gmail.com We will pop it round to you or let you know if there are any additional postal charges involved. Its a great way to support the Friends and learn a bit about the Wood.

Sub-Station Planning Application coming to Council meeting

The planning application to build a six story block of flats and a retail store on the sub-station site on the Great North Road which will overlook Cherry Tree Wood will be going to planning committee this coming Wednesday 22nd June at Hendon Town Hall. Planning Officers have recommended approval of the scheme. The Friends case will be represented at the Committee meeting. We will let you know how it goes.

The Friends had a very productive day at the Festival on Sunday 19th June. We raised over £320 from sales of History booklets and hook a duck donations which will all go to the Friends funds for the work we do in the Wood.

Flooding Update
Thames Water were due to clean up their silted drains last week but in the end didn't turn up. We dont know why and no explanation has been forthcoming. We are waiting for them to rearrange the date. Once they have cleaned their bits and pieces up we will meet up with Barnet Council to discuss next steps.
