CHAIRMAN'S CORNER
Hi all
Another season draws to a close with a busy few weeks coming up. Next weekend sees our Annual Summer Tournament please scroll down for more information and the link to the volunteer rota for the Tournament. Please volunteer to help at our Tournament weekend, even if it is just for an hour. If your child is playing the expectation is that you volunteer for at least one slot, don't rely on others! At present the rota is almost 60% full, which is a great effort, but there are still plenty of slots that need filling. We also need help on Friday the 24th of June to set up. There are plenty of small jobs such as bagging sweets as well as the harder work of roping off pitches and setting up goals. Mums, Dads, siblings, there will be jobs that everyone can help with. If you can help on the Friday, please contact Stuart Hearn at surrey_hoop@hotmail.co.uk. Refreshments will be provided to volunteers throughout the day on Friday.
After a mostly uninterrupted season, we will have much to celebrate at our Presentation Day on Saturday 16th of July. I am looking forward to this being a more normal event this year, particularly as this will be my last event as Chairman. It has been a great four years and I have had the pleasure of meeting and "working" alongside some fantastic people. Thank you in particular to the committee for all their help and hard work. We will continue our endeavours to get the 3G extension completed and enhance the facilities for our children, watch out for updates on this soon! You can help with our fundraising efforts by purchasing some of our Grand Draw tickets, more information is below.
Amongst the great achievements this season are:
- Craig and Michelle being awarded Sport Woking's Outstanding Service to Sport Award
- Our U15 Girls Sports team reaching the Surrey FA County Cup Final
- Our U23s winning their League and securing promotion
- Our U16s Youth, U15 Girls Youth and U13 Colts all finishing runners up in their Leagues
- We also had success on Tour with our U12 Sports finalists at the ESF Minehead Tour 2022, after topping their group without conceding and only missing out on penalties and our boys U15 Sports team winners of the R&T Weymouth Classic 2022
- Recent weeks have seen several Tournament successes, amongst them the U9 Sports and U10s Sports and Youth winning at the SPL Simon Hedley Tournament
Congratulations to all the players, managers and coaches. Good luck to all in the rest of your Tournaments.
Our U18s team played their last games as Meadow Youth players, we wish them every success for the future in adult football. We would like to thank Sean, Ian, the players and all the volunteers and parents that have helped with this age group over the years. We hope to see some of the players returning as our U23s age group in the new season.
This year our Annual General Meeting takes place on Tuesday 19th of July. We will forward more information on this shortly.
I look forward to seeing you on the sidelines and volunteering at the Tournament next weekend and then later on at our Presentation Day.

Please support your child's football club and our Tournament. If you wish to volunteer for the set up on Friday 24th contact Stuart Hearn at surrey_hoop@hotmail.co.uk. Even if you can just spare a couple of hours it is very much appreciated, so please come down.

Saturday 25th June AM- U13 GIRLS*, U14 boys +U15 GIRLS
Saturday 25th June PM- U13 boys, U15 boys + U12 boys*
Saturday games will be full size goals on half pitches, 7-a-side (* except U13 GIRLS and U12 Boys who will play with 9v9 goals)
Sunday 26th June AM- U9 boys, U10 boys, U11 boys + U11 GIRLS
Sunday 26th June PM- U6 boys, U7 boys, U8 boys
Sunday games will be mini-soccer goals, quarter pitches and 6-a-side for all ages/teams

Congratulations to Craig and Michelle on winning Sport Woking's Outstanding Service to Sport award

Michelle is the Registration Secretary of Meadow Sports FC and Craig is the Vice Chairman. Michelle has been responsible for the registration of hundreds of children, which this year has been even more of a challenge due to issues with the FA system. She is essential to the club, managing a lot of the admin behind the scenes.
Craig is credited with putting in endless amounts of time and effort into helping run the club’s facilities and enabling children to play football.
Michelle and Craig kept the club running safely during the pandemic and are a positive influence to both kids and parents alike.
They very kindly donated the prize to our Grand Draw - see above for more information.

The schedule for the day’s presentation slots are shown below.
We are happy to announce Club Legends Photography will once again be coming to our Presentation Day on 16th July 2022. All players will need to wear full kit on the day. It’s going to be a great day please make sure you bring your best smiles. The photos will be taken straight after your presentation slot (see below for timing).
