MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:Hebrews 4:15–16 (ESV) — 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS) is organized into 35 districts, 33 of which are defined along geographic lines. Each district has a president who oversees the congregations in his district, which are further subdivided into local circuits. Faith Lutheran is a part of the Florida-Georgia District, with 203 congregations, 53,800 members, 45 preschools, 35 elementary schools, 2 secondary schools.
Every three years our LCMS meets in a Synodical Convention, a District Convention, and a Circuit Convocation. Next summer, the Synod will meet in convention or the 68th Regular Convention of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), set for July 29–Aug. 3, 2023, in Milwaukee, Wis.
The convention theme will be “We Preach Christ Crucified,” based on 1 Cor. 1:18–25.

Richard and I want to thank everyone, and Hope, for the soup and cookies, flowers and cards, phone calls and visits and all the prayers. You have no idea how much this means until you are on the receiving end. It's wonderful to have a faith family like this. Thanks again and blessings to you all.

Worship Changes for Summer Sundays only:
During the months of June and July, the Praise Band will be taking a much-deserved break from their weekly presentations. 11 am service will be the traditional service identical to the 8 am service for Sundays from June 5 through July 31. Join us in thanking the band for sharing their gifts and talents in service to the Faith family and to our Lord; and wishing them a safe, restful, and blessed summer!
In addition to giving the Praise Band a rest, the nursery workers will be on vacation for the summer. Please bring your children to worship with you! We love having the voices of children raised in praise to our Lord, too. If they get a little too rambunctious or just need a break, you may take them out into the lobby, where there are rocking chairs, coloring books, and crayons.
Since 1995, Faith Lutheran Church has been a member of the Lutheran Coalition for Habitat for Humanity in the northern Atlanta metropolitan region. Faith has participated with other Lutheran churches in the area in the building of over 30 houses for poor families.

The 18th Annual Taste of Habitat on September 16 from 7 – 9 PM at The Metropolitan Club in Alpharetta.

Social Ministry
Mission of the Month:
Help fund Social Ministry
Have you noticed the rising prices of everything? We all are seeing the impact on our wallets and bank accounts; the dismay when we see what it costs to put fuel in our vehicles! Now imagine you're already living on the edge, wondering where you'll spend the night tonight? What's for your next meal? How are you going to feed the kids? There are many people right here wondering just that. Please help us help them!
For June and July we're asking everyone to donate gift cards for gas, Walmart & Target cards, grocery store cards, or cash donations. Where do you shop? Surely someone else could use a gift card for there, too. (Challenge - would you consider purchasing gift cards totaling the amount you just spent on your groceries to be gifted to another family? What about for half the amount you just spent? Think about how blessed you are.) Please put gift cards in Deb Schellman's church mailbox. Donations to the food pantry so we can feed even more families is also a blessing.
Thank you in advance, Faith family, for your generosity!

Hope's Happenings
As some of you may know, it's my birthday on June 29th (I'll be six years old!). My plan is to support Adopt a Golden rescue that helps families in adopting Golden Retrievers, to give them loving "forever homes."
I would appreciate if you can make monetary donations. You can indicate "Donation for Hope's Birthday" in the memo line on your check or on the envelopes and place in the offering plate. You may also place donations in my mailbox.
On June 26, I plan to celebrate my birthday with a small treat for you.
