Summer is off to a hot and humid start! Between baseball games, barbecues, and summer camps, summer can quickly rack up stains on your clothes and gear. Having some trouble getting rid of them? We've got some tips for you below!
GRASS STAINS: Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with a few drops of hydrogen peroxide to form a thick paste. Smooth it over the grass stain and let sit for about 30 minutes. Aggravate the paste with a brush and rinse with cool water, then work in detergent, let it sit, then rinse in cool water again.
GRILL GREASE: In a large bucket, mix 1/2 cup of washing soda (not baking soda) with 2 tablespoons of white vinegar, a small dollop of liquid dishwasher detergent, and 2 cups of water. Scoop or dump the solution onto the stained areas and use a stiff nylon brush to scrub it into the surface.
POLLEN: Lift off any remaining pollen from the garment with tape. Rinse and soak with cold water. Rinse again. Apply stain remover. Wash as usual. Air dry to be safe so any remaining stain doesn't set. Repeat rinse and wash if necessary.
BERRIES: Create Pre-Treat Solution. Mix 1 tbsp. white vinegar and ½ tsp. liquid laundry detergent into a quart of cool water. Soak. Let the fabric soak for about 15 minutes. Rinse. Rinse thoroughly with cool water. Re-Wash. Launder the clothing once more to get out any remaining discoloration.
