24 Stumps Removed!

MVCC recently worked with The Bureau of Street Services, Urban Forestry Division to remove 24 stumps from Mar Vista.

Once the MVCC Board approved the Community Improvement Project (CIP) for $3,480, we worked with James Ingram from Councilmember Koretz’s office to have the funds transferred from MVCC’s account to Urban Forestry’s account. The City Council approved the motion on Friday, June 24, 2022. Urban Forestry needed to complete the work by June 30, 2022 or funds would be lost.

Urban Forestry worked Monday June 27th, through Thursday June 30th from 3pm to 8pm. They scouted the sites, then Dig Alert came, marked and approved the area to ensure it was safe to remove stumps and that no gas, cable, or other lines would be damaged.

The next steps are to work with the homeowners to see if they want new trees. If so, we will work with the City to obtain them.
