Kia ora koutou,

The school’s leadership team and the Board of Trustees met last night (June 20) on Zoom to reassess the decision we made about compulsory mask-wearing at SWIS.

We reviewed the latest SWIS student COVID absence data which shows a decrease since 7 June when we introduced compulsory mask-wearing at school. We also considered the impact and implications of COVID on our staffing levels.  You can view the data HERE or scroll to the bottom of this page and view the graph.

With this in mind, we’ve decided to continue mandatory mask use until the end of the school day, July 8.  This is the last day of Term 2.  We will revisit this decision during week one of Term Three.

Visitors to the school will also need to be compliant with our current mask-wearing requirements.

There may be students who are exempt from wearing a mask and I am happy for you to email me directly to confirm these details.  My email address is principal@swis.school.nz

Thank you for your ongoing support during these changing times.
