Things are heating up

This newsletter will be full, as the title suggests, of nuggets and pearls. Of wisdom and, uh... wisdom. Well, that's the idea, anyway.

Practically speaking, this one is about storytelling and public speaking, in reference to a couple of workshops I have coming up that you'll enjoy.

To zoom out from the here and now for a moment, I should mention that I haven’t been very busy of late. Like a few years. I used to be a busy guy with lots of stuff going on, places to be and all that. Then I had kids, covid, and was out a job. Then more recently, we went traveling for a couple of months. Overall: great, all of it highly recommend (except covid).

But now, I feel like I'm getting my groove back. Like Stella. So I'm leaning into it: doing lots of session planning, some podcasting, some writing and general 'business tending to'.

Check it out.

Unlocking storytelling online workshop

28 June | 19.30-21.30 CET | Tickets

I've been teaching elements of storytelling, on and offline, for years. It's a key part of workshops I deliver on public speaking, charisma, writing, improv, as well as my coaching services.

Then, just last week, on the basis of a fruitful coffee conversation with my friend Sobhi, I realized I shouldn't be sitting on this stuff. I should be putting it out into the world.

So I combined the best parts into a "two-hour interactive online workshop that will give you a grounding in personal storytelling essentials and leave with a better ability to tell your own stories. Whether you want to tell stories on stage, breathe life into your next presentation, or craft richer written essays and memoirs, this workshop will sharpen your skills."

Sounds great, right? Here's the ticket link again

I've got a few tickets for this online session at 50% off with the code STORYME at checkout. Otherwise, use the code EARLYBIRD and get €10 off if you book before Friday 24 June.

Learn to love public speaking (IRL)

12 July | 10.30-15.30 CET | Tickets
Since I was putting workshops together I thought I’d finally put on one of my 'Learn to love public speaking'  sessions here in Amsterdam. There have been many requests for it, and now, since I'm on a workshop-making roll, I thought I'd oblige.

I normally do these sessions in London as a Guardian Masterclass, but this time I’m doing it in town at the CREA. Spots are limited. And it will be fun. And informative.

In fact, "During this daylong interactive session, you’ll discover the science behind effective presenting, shape your mindset for success and learn techniques to help you engage and influence your audience.

Fun, actionable, and afterward you'll actually look forward to a chance to step on stage.

Here's the ticket link.

Here's a photo of me looking like a guy who really knows what he's talking about, as a public speaker. Calm, dignified, knowledgeable and everything.
