Dear Library Community,

Summer reading continues at the library! Join us for fun activities and programs for all ages, through the end of this month. Our kids' summer reading bags continue to fly off the shelves. Free lunches for kids are happening every weekday in our Maple Street lot. And mark your calendars for the grand finale at the end of July! For adults, we've got a local history program about Oregon statesman Mark O. Hatfield coming up on Saturday, July 16. (See below for all dates & details)

We're so excited to welcome Oregon's Dino-Story to the library. This free traveling exhibit from the University of Oregon's Museum of Natural and Cultural History will be at our Florence location from July 7 to the end of the month. It features fossils, bones, and interactive activities for all ages. Stop by and see it during open library hours!

Finally, we are delighted to announce that we are expanding our library days and hours this month. We appreciate your patience as we have hired and trained new staff, and we're ready to offer even more services to you. Starting Tuesday, July 5, our Florence hours are:

Tuesday 10 AM - 8 PM
Wednesday 10 AM - 8 PM
Thursday 10 AM - 6 PM

And we will be open Wednesday to Saturday, 12-5 PM, in Mapleton.

Art Displays at the Library
Stop by the library any time during open hours to check out this month's featured artists:

Brubaker Wall: Jerry Schneider, photography on canvas

Interested in displaying your art in a future month? We feature a variety of local artists in all types of media. Get an application here or stop by the library to pick one up.
Covid Tests & Safety
We have free rapid Covid test kits available at the library. They are first come, first served, one per person, while supplies last. Stop by the front desk in Florence or Mapleton to request one.

Wondering about mask and social distance requirements? The statewide mask mandate for most public indoor spaces has been lifted. We are following the guidance of the Oregon Health Authority and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Our door signs indicate the current level of community spread (low, medium, or high) in Lane County, and recommendations for each level.

You can see the latest updates from the CDC here.
Meeting Rooms Open for Reservations
Our meeting rooms are open for public use. The conference room comfortably seats 12. The Bromley Room will accommodate up to 70 people in classroom or theater-style seating.

Groups or individuals can book either of our meeting rooms once per month for up to four hours, and we take reservations up to 45 days in advance. Currently we are only allowing use during open library hours. We also have smaller study rooms available.

Our meeting rooms are free, and may only be used for non-commercial purposes. For more information, see our room use page. To reserve a room, contact the reference desk at 541-997-3132.
