We need a Ukranian speaker to help us reach out to refugees who are moving into the area.  Please contact John Twynam-Perkins or the office if you or someone you know can help.
Summer Changes

This week we have the final session of Mainly Music and the final Wednesday midday service, but all other regular activities have stopped for the summer.  There will be one service on a Sunday at 10.30am, and also the Family Fun each Tuesday and Thursday at the gazebos (see below).

The office will be manned each week but you may not get a response straight away.
Dave's Sabbatical

A reminder that Dave goes on sabbatical from Friday 1st July for three months.  Please allow him these three months for respite and reconnection with God and do not contact him about any church matters.
Lost Property

If you recognise anything, please find it in the lost property box in the office.  As we cannot store items indefinitely, the box will be emptied at the end of the summer.
The Trustees of AIDS Africa would like to thank you for your outstanding support in the past and advise you that, following the deaths of both Catriona and Pauline, we are finalising the winding-up of the Charity.

We are able, with the sums remaining, to fund two student nurses for the duration of their three-year course at a Nursing School within St. Francis’ Hospital in Ketete, Zambia, where Pauline had in the past distributed some of our goods. The Scholarship will be in memory of Catriona and Pauline and named the Catriona Kerr/Pauline Chabinga Scholarship. We feel this is very appropriate as both Catriona and Pauline were nurses.

Once again, our grateful thanks for your donations, gifts and prayers over the last twenty years.

The Trustees.
Volunteer Opportunities at Glasgow City Mission Govan

Family Holiday Club

Our holiday club is running from Monday 4th July for 3 weeks. We’re looking for lots of volunteers to help make this a fun and enjoyable time for the families that attend. It’s held at Elder Park, Govan, and we need volunteers from 9:30am – 2:00pm Monday to Friday (4th July to 22nd July). Even if you can only commit to one day, we’d love to hear from you!

English Class

Our Project Worker Margaret runs a busy English class on Mondays 1:30pm – 3:00pm. We need some volunteers to either help running the class or to look after the children to let the parents focus on the class.

Internationals Sewing Group

We run a sewing group at 1:00pm on Wednesdays at our Child and Family Centre for people from a wide variety of cultures with a wide variety of skill levels and methods. We’re looking for volunteers with some knowledge of sewing machines to help out, including setting up the machines. It’s full of delightful people with lots of smiles!

Hoping we can get some help for these great projects working with families in Govan – the team there would be very grateful! Look forward to hearing from you if you’re interested. heath@glasgowcitymission.com
