We pray for the repose of the soul of Nancy Duvall, wife of Bishop Charles Duvall, who passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022. Please keep all those who mourn in your prayers.
Nancy served on the Vestry of St. John’s Episcopal, Columbia, and on the Boards of the Episcopal Church’s Presiding Bishop’s Fund for World Relief and the Moldova World Children’s Fund among many other charitable organizations to which she regularly and lovingly donated. Bishop Duvall (1935 - 2020) served as the Bishop Diocesan of the Central Gulf Coast from 1981 until 2001. Upon retirement, he served as an Assisting Bishop to Bishop Waldo. Here are the details regarding Nancy’s service:
The Burial Office and Holy Eucharist will occur on Saturday, June 25 at 10:00 a.m at St. John’s, Shandon (2827 Wheat Street, Columbia, SC, 29205).
The family will receive friends on the patio after the service.
The Committal service and interment will follow at Old St. David’s Church, 98 2nd Street, Cheraw, SC, 29520.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moldova World Children’s Fund, PO Box 458, Hendersonville, NC 28793, Still Hopes Resident Fund, One Still Hopes Drive, West Columbia, SC 29169, or St. John’s Episcopal Church, 2827 Wheat Street, Columbia, SC 29205.
Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend your servant Nancy. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your own redeeming. Receive her into the arms of your mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light. Amen.
