What's next for 102 Avenue?
On Monday, June 13, Edmonton City Council voted for in favour of opening 102 Avenue between 99 St and 103 St to people as a pilot!!
Thank you for your support – your emails to Councillors made a difference! What's more, Council immediately voted after this decision for Administration to develop an approach to do this in other downtown streets too. Most excitingly, that vote was unanimous!
We're enthused by this. Council is clearly listening to Edmontonians like you. We're eager to continue working with businesses, landowners, community associations, and downtown residents together. You can read more about what's next here.

Now, onto the next thing! Tell Canada that Edmonton is ready for more active transportation options!
Did you know about the Federal Government's Active Transportation Fund? They're going to make a decision soon about which projects to fund across the country.
As you probably know, Edmonton has a lot of potential for this type of funding! With Federal funding, we can build our a city-wide active transportation network sooner rather than later.
Add your voice to hundreds of others via this petition on Councillor Janz's website to tell the Federal Minister about Edmonton's shovel-ready plans.

Sat. August 13 - Return of A Taste of Open Streets
We are very excited to be working with the City of Edmonton, Downtown Business Association, and Oliver Community League to bring back a scaled-down version of Open Streets.
We're planning on running open streets programming in Oliver on 103 Avenue as well as in Downtown on 104 St (as a part of Al Fresco).
This project is supported by funding from the Harbour. We'll have another fun announcement regarding this funding in the coming weeks on social media.

Whereto Next Survey for Youth
|
|
Paths for People received grant funding from the Harbour to support a youth-oriented engagement project that encourages young people to become involved in municipal government and city-building.
There is a need to encourage the re-imagining of public spaces and shift resources to support increased sustainable transportation infrastructure.
We'd like to hear from youth (30 or under) and non-youths alike!
