Suicide Loss and Grief

Grief is always difficult, but loss by suicide is especially challenging and complex. Suicide loss survivors experience a wide range of emotional and behavioral responses. Like an iceberg, what others see on the surface is only a small representation of what is faced by the survivor.

We collaborate with LOSS Community Services to train our employees in trauma-informed care and compassionate suicide response. When someone has experienced a death by suicide, LOSS has numerous online and in-person resources to support the grief and healing process.

What Bio-One Can Do

Bio-One’s team is trained to provide compassionate, professional, and discreet services after death by suicide. While survivors are still coping with an array of emotional responses, they are being asked to make difficult decisions about the location and possessions of the individual, including a decision about clean-up of the scene of the death.

Bio-One has unmatched expertise in decontamination and clean-up of body fluids to ensure that the affected areas are clean and safe. This process should be done as soon as possible to reduce the potential extended trauma of the scene for suicide loss survivors as well as potential long-term damage to the living space.

For more information, please visit our website. Calls are answered 24/7 and we will ensure timely and professional follow-up.

Tim Lockard is the owner/operator of Bio-One Columbus and has more than 15 years of experience in emergency response.
