IWI PLANNING DAY

 

POSTPONED TILL A LATER DATE


It is with great dissapointment that we have postponed our Iwi Planning Day due to COVID cases in our project team.

Every effort will be made to ensure that we reschedule this important hui so please keep an eye out on our communicaton platforms.  

We would ask that our whānau who attended Aunty Hinekahura tangihanga and who visited Whakarongotai this week should take a RATS Test for their own safety and welfare.

This week marks the first year that Matariki will be celebrated nationally.  We would like to mihi to ngā kaihautū ō tēnei kaupapa whakahirahira, their continual drive to ensure mātauranga māori is at the heart of these celebrations that will become normalised within a national context.

Overview
The Waikanae Jobs for Nature project is an ambitious multi-year effort to restore the Waikanae River catchment in collaboration with the Department of Conservation and Te Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai (AKW). It aims to build capacity and employment within AKW and the Kāpiti Coast community and to achieve environmental integrity by implementing the six key kaupapa of Whakapapa, Wairua, Mana, Maramatanga, Te Ao Turoa, and Mauri. Working as part of a close knit, collaborative team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the office is well managed. We are looking for a motivated person to join our team, and take ownership of the administrative / bookkeeping functions. The role consists of all aspects of bookkeeping and basic accounting, as well other general administrative duties. Skills we are looking for:

  • 3-4 years Experience in a similar role with strong time management
  • The ability to work un-supervised.
  • Bookkeeping & basic accounting knowledge.
  • Good all round knowledge of Xero in particular Projects and payroll
  • A general understanding of Cloud based systems.
  • Competence in Excel coupled with attention to detail.
  • Good written & verbal communication skills
  • The ability to build relationships with others.

Duties: Accounts Payable Bank Reconciliations Payroll GST processing & filing Monthly business reporting. Other general administrative and housekeeping tasks
We anticipate this role will be 3 days a week, with flexibility around the make-up of the hours worked.

Bookings Administrator
 

Kapiti Island Nature Tours have a new part time position available in their Reservations Team.

Position: Bookings Administrator:
Hours: Part time - approximate 25 - 35 hours per week on rostered days. An 8 hour day with a fixed block from 6.30am to 9.30am with flexibility for the other 5 hours.

Position Specs:
This role is responsible for responding to incoming customer & agent enquiries, and is key to ensuring the smooth running of transport logistics for manuhiri & crew to & from Kapiti Island.
