Share your views on health and care
We want to know about your experiences of health and care in Kent and Medway and your ideas for how we can improve services.
To make this easy, we’ve launched a website called Have Your Say in Kent and Medway
|
|
|
It includes details of the topics we’re actively seeking views on, but it also encourages people to get in touch to let us know about their experiences of heath and social care.
By listening to people and understanding their experiences, we can use them to improve services.
The topics we’re now seeking views on include:
- the ways we work with people and communities
- wheelchairs and community equipment
- social prescribing, which connects people to practical and emotional community support.
You can find out about what we’ve heard on other topics too. Join the conversation through our ideas boards, forums and surveys. When you register, you can select areas of interest and receive notifications about future projects to join.
You can also join our Health Network to keep informed about opportunities to have your say, including events, surveys and news. Email Kmccg.engage@nhs.net
Register at www.haveyoursayinkentandmedway.co.uk

It's never too late to have your vaccine
Our vaccine ambassadors will be out and about at events this summer to bust any myths about the Covid-19 vaccine.
Look out for the team at the Kent County Show (8 to 10 July), Chatham Carnival (9 July), Dartford’s Big Day Out (16 July) and Leysdown Carnival (30 July).

Covid-19 vaccines are safe and effective. They are the best protection for you and your family. Book your appointment online or phone 119 for free.

74 years on, it's the people who make the NHS
The NHS celebrated 74 years of service on Tuesday. This huge milestone gave us the opportunity to thank those working in the NHS across Kent and Medway for their skill and dedication.
As we celebrate the history of the NHS and look to the future, we're excited to be working with partners to provide joined up care. Find out more about Kent and Medway Integrated Care System and how the NHS is changing.

Support for people living with diabetes
Following its launch in Kent and Medway, thousands of people with type one and type two diabetes have joined the myDiabetes platform, available on a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
|
|
|
The app helps users to manage their diabetes by monitoring their blood glucose levels.
Additionally, those living with type two diabetes have access to a free diet and exercise programme to support them in reducing the risk of long-term, serious health issues.
NHS Kent and Medway is offering free access to myDiabetes for all people living with diabetes in the county. To sign up and get involved, contact leslie.smith7@nhs.net or rebecca.carvell@mymhealth.com. Find out more about the scheme here.

Know your score
Kent County Council’s online alcohol awareness tool, know your score, helps people find out how much they drink and how this may be affecting their work, health and relationships.
It explains what one unit of alcohol is, the impacts of regularly drinking above the recommended levels and signposts to help and support.

Op Brock is back for the summer
The Brock traffic management scheme on the M20 will be reinstated overnight on Sunday, 10 July. If you are traveling through Kent this summer, please check your route before you travel and allow extra time for your journey.
Avian flu
Avian influenza is circulating in wild and sea birds in Kent. If you find any dead wild birds, including gulls, swans, ducks, geese or birds of prey, in any location across Kent and Medway, please do not touch them and report in to your local council for clearance. Guidance and information can be found here.
Can you donate blood?
NHS Blood and Transplant is urging people to come forward to donate blood. Especially those who are O negative, O positive or B negative. One hour of your time can save or improve up to three lives. Find out where your nearest donation centre is.
