June 2022

This NH Gives made a huge splash! We hit both of our matches and raised over $5,000! A special thanks to Bob's Automotive and Wrecker Service as well as our Advisory Board for your generous matching donations! With the help of our community, we were able to DUNK all four of our managers! We are looking forward to next year when we hope to raise even more to support your favorite local recovery community organization.

SOS will be open this Fourth of July!

Need a safe place to go this Fourth of July? Maybe you have nobody else to spend the holiday with? Don't worry! Your friends at SOS are here for you! Our Dover Center will be open 12 pm - 4 pm. We will also be grilling up burgers and hot dogs! If you are searching for some food & support this Fourth of July-- you know where to find us-- 4 Broadway Dover, NH!

Did you know SOS has a Mobile Syringe & Harm Reduction Supplies Delivery Service?!

Our mobile delivery is available Monday - Friday 9am -5pm.  This is a new pilot program-- meaning we will be working out any kinks or challenges over the first 90 days. Our mobile program will offer syringe services and exchange, delivery of harm reduction supplies, including Naloxone and Fentanyl testing strips, and we will provide transportation for recovery supports as desired for individuals who want to come to any of our centers in areas not served by public transportation. Our goal will be to get supplies out within 24 hours during the work week. We are hopeful we can do same day delivery but we cannot guarantee it. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday we will focus our deliveries primarily in Strafford County. Tuesday and Friday we will focus primarily on the Seacoast portion of Rockingham County including Seabrook, Hampton, Hampton Falls, North Hampton, Rye, Portsmouth, Exeter, Stratham and Newmarket. Call our delivery number which is dedicated for this service and available from 9am -5pm Monday through Friday @ 603-605-4415.

Welcome to the Team: Melissa!

Melissa is a person in long-term recovery from Substance Use Disorder and Mental Illness. She first came to SOS in 2018 as a member and volunteer while she was living at Turning Point in Dover. Melissa has practiced several pathways of recovery and navigated herself through the justice system. Melissa is passionate about her two sons. She is an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. Melissa is local to the area and grateful to give back to her community through her new job as a Recovery Support Coordinator at SOS! She is currently working towards her CRSW and will be continuing her education in the future working towards a degree in Social Work.

One of our favorite things at SOS is watching our members grow. From member, to volunteer, to now employee, Melissa has been a valuable part of SOS for a long time-- we couldn't be more excited to have her join the team!
