What's New?

Monday is Juneteenth - a day that celebrates the freedom of the last group of enslaved people in the United States. It was announced to the people in Galveston, Texas on June 19, 1865 – more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. For ways to recognize and honor Juneteenth check out the resources available on PBS Kids. We will be open for Masked Up Monday as usual.

Our Summer Camps are nearly full! If you've been waiting to sign up, do it soon! Find the brochure with descriptions, and link to online registration, at our Camps & Classes web page.

Berry Dairy Days starts today!! Be sure to join in all the festivities throughout the weekend that celebrate all things Skagit in early summer! A full list of events can be found on the website.

Thanks to the Celtic Arts Foundation for sponsoring Community Access Day this week (June 14.) We look forward to the Skagit Valley Highland Games on July 9 and all the fun there is to see: solo bagpiping and drumming competitions, bagpipe bands, fiddling, traditional Scottish athletics (the “heavy” events) and Scottish Highland dancing. Learn more on the CAF website.

June is Pollinator month! United General District 304's LSPAN program has a newsletter full of wonderful ideas and activities that celebrate and promote healthy gardens for bees and other pollinators. Find this and all the LSPAN newsletters can be found on their website.

Get Creative!

Get your creative juices flowing! Our Art Studio is full of supplies for creating your next masterpiece!

We're so excited to have a set of Builder Boards from our long-time friend Jack McKee (shown delivering them above.) They'll be out next week, for a special new activity.

Masked Up Monday Mornings is a weekly session that runs from 10am-12pm. Everyone in the museum will be required to wear a mask, to ensure the safety of visitors, and those who are medically fragile. Children under three, who are not able to mask, will not be able to attend this session. These sessions are made possible by generous support from the Nysether Family Foundation and the Skagit Community Foundation.
*We will be open for Masked Up Monday on June 20*
