June 2022
RESEARCH PROJECT BY YORK UNIVERSITY:
Demedicalizing Madness Project: How do policies, guidelines, and procedures impact your mental health

This research project is looking for people with lived mental health experiences aged 18+ to participate in focus groups to provide feedback on how to change policies that impact mental health services. How do policies or procedures impact your life and mental health, and how would you change them? The policies and documents will be provided to participants.

This research study is conducted by the York University research assistants Marina Mikhail and Cindy Jiang, and Research Supervisor Simon Adam, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Health.

Focus groups will take place in June, July and August, in-person OR online via Zoom. Please sign up using the online registration link. Upon registering, you will be contacted by the organizers to arrange a time to conduct the interviews.

Participation is voluntary. Participants will receive $100 for their time, knowledge and personal experiences of how policy impacts their lives. Please note participation is not guaranteed. Spaces are limited. Please apply by July 1st, 2022.

The research project is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. For more information or if you have questions, please contact:
