A Swiss Army knife is one tool, with many uses.Like a Swiss Army knife, your videos can have many uses. Let's look at some ideas for repurposing.

Live Presentations - Captured
Recordings of live presentations made at a networking or another event contain some of your best ideas and may be used for marketing. Create :15-1:00 segments for blog, or social media posts. The slides within the presentation along with your voiceover could be used in Instagram videos. Use these segments in a commercial for your next presentation. From a 20-30-minute presentation, you can have a couple of months of content. Want to become a professional speaker? Save them for your sizzle reel for meeting and event planners..(BTW I can create your sizzle reel too,)

Webinar/Training - Extended
Your product or service training video is a good resource for sales demonstrations. For example, the 20-second demonstration of the featured item could help close a sale Since most of us learn in small bites, segmenting the entire training video is great for refresher posts on social media or for a tip of the day email message. Use them in a training library for clients or employees so they can access the information they need without having to search the entire video. Consider including some of the clips on an FAQ page. Finally, the video could be the beginner of a great commercial.

Testimonials - Credibility
If you are like most, your testimonials are sitting on your website waiting for someone to find them.
Consider using them in a video ad showing that special customer, AH-HA moment. What about using a segment on your LinkedIn profile?

Explainer - How
Explainer videos provide a 50,000-foot view of your product/service so pulling segments for commercials is relatively easy. Even if you have to create a new voiceover, you've saved a few hundred dollars in production costs.

That’s a Wrap - And Special offer!
Create a database of your video assets. Store them on a portable hard drive or on a cloud drive. Always ask for the original raw video ,files. After all you paid for them. Even the stuff you didn’t use may have some nuggets. BTW outtakes are great attention grabbers and are great for an ad or social media post.

Using the entire video segment may or may not work. The idea behind repurposing is to save time and money on other projects or create a new project for a different distribution channel. With some creative thinking, you can have another video asset in your marketing toolbox.

What is a Work for Hire Agreement
If you contract someone to provide video services, request a “Work for Hire” agreement. This means everything the production company creates belongs to you. All the rights to source/original material such as video files, graphics, animations, and slides are your property. Some video producers transfer the rights to the final video project but retain the rights for the source video files.

All video and audio work PWE-media creates is a Work for Hire. Just tell me where to upload it.
