With the weather hotting up, so where better to spend a lovely summer evening than our summer party at the venue with one of the best views up and down the Thames?

Hampton in the ’70s & ’80s talk

We also a have a great talk lined up at St Mary’s community hall July. John Sheaf will be speaking about his latest book – Images of Hampton in the 1970s and 1980s. Lots of tales and great pictures.

Thursday, 14 July at 7.30pm for 8.00pm, with a return of our refreshments bar!
 

Coach trip

I have also details from Lionel Beer for a Civil Service Retirement Fellowship (CSRF) coach trip in July to Southampton including the Hythe Pier Electric railway. The last coach trip was a big success amongst members. Details below…

Hampton Sailing Club
Friday 24 June, 7.30pm for 8.00pm start

If you have any dietary requirements, please contact Linda Brignall here as soon as you can as we have to notify the caterers in advance.

Don’t miss out as we only have limited capacity.

Tickets (payable in advance) are available now from treasurer Brian Brignall at 5 Howard Close, Hampton TW12 2UB. Or call him on 020 8979 9499.

Please don’t delay as we have to can confirm numbers to our caterers on Friday 17 June.

Civil Service Retirement Fellowship (CSRF) Coach Trip to Southampton


including the Hythe Pier Electric railway

Thursday 28 July

The trip includes ferry rides, time in Southampton and the narrow gauge Royal Victoria Railway. The rides on four types of transport may include some steps!

The unique oldest pier railway runs 700 yards. The ferry passes giant cruise ships on Southampton Water. You can stop at the Mayflower Memorial, Gods Tower, St.Michael’s Church, the Tudor House Museum, etc, and go on to the West Quay shopping centre with some 90 shops and 20 eateries, before returning to the ferry at Town Quay.

Usual pick-up points including Hampton station.

Tickets are just £30, including coach, two pier rides, two ferry rides and the Royal Victoria Railway.

  • 8.30am TWICKENHAM, York House, (33, 290, 490, R68, R70) Richmond Road south side.
  • 8.40am TEDDINGTON, The Library, (33 bus), Waldegrave Road (6 min. walk from station)
  • 8.55am HAMPTON HILL, St.James Church, Park Road (free parking on adjacent roads)
  • 9.10am HAMPTON STATION, Station Road side (111/216 buses) (Train arrives at 8.53am)
  • Please be early as the GMK coach cannot wait
