Common Thread Weekly

Wednesday, 15 June                                            Volume 22, summer number 2

Common Thread Community Chorus of Toronto is a non-audition, folk-roots chorus that promotes social justice and community through the performance of joyful, empowering, culturally diverse music from non-religious world traditions.

We remind choir members that we have a scent-free rehearsal space and that members are asked to refrain from bringing peanut products as snacks.

FLASH - “Together Again” production team delighted…

Notwithstanding the shroud of pre-release confidentiality surrounding the editing and production of CT’s “Together Again”, rumours have begun to swirl about the quality of the choir performance, recording and editing.

And the word leaking out is “GREAT”. An unnamed source close to the production, identified only by their initials “I.B.”, used words like “solid” and “dynamic” to describe the overall choral sound. “I.B.” also stated that even the sound of sections with relatively few singers was not only substantial but nuanced.

These early words about the quality of the performance will no doubt heighten the splash “Together Again” will make when it’s released to the world on Saturday, June 18th. It will also be a big plus for choir members and allies that are, at this very minute, promoting viewership of the performance to family and friends.

With a successful production, Common Thread Chorus will be “surfing the wave” as it emerges from the stormy seas caused by the COVID 19 pandemic.

Based on these early positive indications it is fortunate that audience size restrictions will not apply to this great You Tube social justice community choir performance.

REMEMBER: Each CT singer has an important part to play in promoting Together Again. The larger the audience, the higher our choir’s profile. With it, interest in joining the choir will be sparked. A large audience can also increase donations.
