Pharmacy Review Steering Group Voting Deadline this Friday, 17th June,11.59pm.

The proposals put forward by the Review Steering Group (RSG) set out a range of ways in which the RSG believes PSNC and the LPCs could work better together to ensure that contractors get the best possible representation. They include setting a vision for community pharmacy, reducing duplication between LPCs and PSNC, and ensuring contractors get the same levels of support, wherever they are in the country.

Community pharmacy contractors are being asked to consider the proposals and vote on whether they would like these changes to PSNC and the LPCs to be taken forward. Find out more about the RSG and its work at: https://pharmacy-review.org/.

Voting on the online portal closes at 11.59pm on Friday 17th June 2022.

The results of the ballot and independent scrutineer’s report will be published to the sector by Wednesday 22nd June 2022.

Expressions of interest (EOI) to open Christmas Day 25th December 2022 – Pharmacy Provision

In case you missed the email from the East Midlands team:

NHS England is looking to commission pharmacies to open for 2 hours on Christmas Day 25th December 2022.

The remuneration on Christmas Day 2022 will be £244 per hour and pharmacies who are interested in opening on this day should email their expressions of interest and preferred opening hours to england.eastmidspharmacy@nhs.net no later than Friday 17 June 2022.

If more than the required number of expressions of interest are received per CCG/STP area, NHS England will make a decision based on those received.

In previous years a number of pharmacies have offered to open for more than 2 hours for 2 hours remuneration, if you are willing to open for a longer period than 2 hours for no additional remuneration then please indicate this on the form.

The form here: Christmas 2022 EOI letter includes the remaining bank holidays for the financial year. Christmas Day is highlighted in yellow.

Clinical Skills Training Survey. Deadline: Friday 17 June 2022

Please see request from Health Education England below. HEE are asking for support in sharing a survey aimed at frontline community pharmacists who deliver CPCS and other Advanced Services:

At Health Education England (HEE) we are working closely with our colleagues at NHS England and NHS Improvement to provide training opportunities to pharmacists delivering NHS community pharmacy services across England.

During 2019-2022 CPPE and RPS delivered Pharmacy Integration Programme-funded training to support the delivery of the community pharmacist consultation service. An evaluation of this training highlighted many positive aspects and taking this further, we are commissioning the next phase of training for post-registration pharmacists delivering NHS community pharmacy services.

To collate as much frontline knowledge in the development of the training modules, we are seeking opinions from learning and education leads, frontline pharmacists, and employers.

We would appreciate the dissemination and completion of this survey by Friday 17 June 2022, to gather feedback on the commentary we have received from the employer groups and gain an understanding of frontline pharmacists’ skills and potential gaps in training.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the team via pharmacyteam@hee.nhs.uk stating – Clinical Skills Training
