Tuesday

noon-3pm - Serve Lunch at PG Day Center
Dear People of Hope,

Last weekend, Hope's leaves with hopes and dreams from our synod, joined many other leaves, as several hundred participants gathered for Synod Assembly.  Thanks to Rose W and Lauren M for representing Hope (along with myself).  If you want to read all the details, reports and resolutions are on the synod website (https://metrodcelca.org/synod-assembly-2022/).  Or you may have heard Rose share in worship last week; Lauren will share this week.

This past week in worship, we also heard Katie E share some of her call story, including trusting God without having all the answers herself, and her journey to seminary.  And we heard Lee B share some of his poetry and spiritual story.  If you want to read more of Lee's poetry, you can find it here: https://linktr.ee/lee.alexander.poetry

Peace of Christ, Pastor Julie

ps - Thank you to EVERYONE who supported the ministry of the wider church in recent weeks.  There was a CUCE fundraiser at Franklins, Lutherans at PRIDE, and many of us praying for Humble Walk students as they travel.
Summer Picnic at Hope
Sunday July 10, after worship at Hope
with St Andrews Episcopal Church
and Living Water Seventh Day Adventist

We're having a community picnic - and we're keeping it simple.  Bring your own lunch and chairs or blanket.  We'll gather outside after worship on Sunday July 10.  Our partners from St Andrews and Living Water will also join us so we'll have a chance to get to know people in person.  Hope will provide drinks (and probably some sidewalk chalk and bubbles for all-ages fun).  Feel free to invite friends and family, too.
Poor People's Campaign and March
Saturday, June 18, all day in DC

Several months ago, Pastor Julie heard Rev. Barber preach, and she shared some of his story in Hope's worship service. Now our synod has voted to enthusiastically support this movement, led by Poor People's Campaign and Repairers of the Breech.  Join people of faith and conviction, crying out for justice this Saturday.  Find details and RSVP here:

Humble Walk Blog through Europe
read it here: https://thehumblewalk.wordpress.com/

The students' official trip has ended, but most of them are staying longer and traveling independently.  Pastor Ray and his family also continue to travel abroad.  So there's still time to read their blog, pray for their travels, and await their return home.
