Free Learning Series "Little Kids, Big World" Featured at North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum

BISMARCK, N.D. – Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to the free interactive learning series "Little Kids, Big World" at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum. These interactive 30-minute programs introduce children to North Dakota’s fascinating history. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

"Little Kids, Big World" classes are offered in a large public space with social distancing considerations. Each child is provided with their own supplies. Children and their parents or guardians are asked to meet at the east entrance information desk.

July 9 "Ready, Set, Liftoff!" 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Did you know we have a spacesuit in the State Museum? Join us to see a piece of history, and make your own rocket to watch it soar.

July 16 "Digging a Dinosaur Puzzle," 10 and 11 a.m. Paleontologists dig for dinosaur bones. Grab a shovel and piece together dinosaurs found in our state.

July 23 "Bubble Mania," 10 and 11 a.m. Lawrence Welk was a popular musician and bandleader from North Dakota whose weekly television show opened with floating bubbles. Learn about Welk and his music, create a bubble wand, and have fun filling the ND Heritage Center grounds with bubbles.

July 30 "Tipi Time," 10 and 11 a.m. Have you ever been inside a tipi? Danielle Stuckle, education outreach coordinator, will help us set up a tipi on the ND Heritage Center grounds. Come in and discover what is inside while listening to a story about bison.

"Little Kids, Big World" is led by Sarah Fox, who has teaching endorsements in STEM 1-8, middle school 5-8, and kindergarten, and has taught for more than 10 years.
