NEW RIA Research Summary:

Violence and Aggression in

Convenience Stores

Associates and other store personnel are experiencing an increase in violence in the workplace. As previously described in the LPRC’s recent work on workplace violence (see RIAs on Violence Against Retail Workers and Workplace Violence Policies and Programming available in the Knowledge  Center), while businesses are making changes to prevent workplace violence,  shop workers still suffer when exposed to violence at work. One particular type of retail establishment, the convenience store, is notorious for being both a crime attractor and a crime generator.

To see the research surrounding Violence and Aggression in C-Stores read the full report on the Knowledge Center.

LPRC WEEKLY UPDATES

2022 NRF National Retail Security Survey

NRF & LPRC Partnership

The NRF's National Retail Security Survey (NRSS) is now in its 31st year. It is an annual survey of retail loss prevention professionals that covers national retail security issues such as inventory shrink, employee integrity, and external retail crime. The report serves the retail and solution provider communities and our law enforcement partners and helps informs policymakers and the media.

This year the NRF and LPRC are partnering to conduct the NRSS. The NRF is the world's largest retail trade organization and works to protect the interests of every retail sector. The Loss Prevention Research Council is the premier loss prevention research organization and conducts research to protect vulnerable people, places, and property. Retailers do not have to be members of the LPRC to participate in the NRSS or access the results when they become available.

The annual NRSS report is only possible because of retailers' participation, and we can only do more sophisticated analyses (e.g., sector-specific analyses) if we have sufficient participation. More importantly, the NRF can more effectively represent your organizations' interests if we understand your interests and concerns.

If you have any questions or wish to participate in this years survey please feel free to reach out to Cory@lpresearch.org
