Quote for the month:
"The pessimist complains about the wind, the optimist expects it to change.
The leader adjusts the sails.”
 John C Maxwell

Club Information:
  • New signs are in the process of being placed around the club property. As you notice them, please take a moment to read them and make note of the message.
  • The BSA Troop #51 from Lavonia has planned for the installation of 2x12 benches on the uprights of the pistol bay shelters.  This will be an Eagle Scout Community Service project that is a final requirement to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. If you happen to see the Scouts working on the range, please give them thanks, and safe space to do their work.

  • Upcoming this month, there will be another special GMSA Tactical Pistol Match.
The match will be on the typical third-Saturday, June 18th.  This match will honor William “Bill” Ruger.  Prizes will be awarded for several classes and please note that this will be a rain or shine match!  It will happen regardless of whether we have 10 shooters or 30 shooters but will be capped at a maximum of 48 shooters.  Special thanks to Strum Ruger for providing chamber flags for the event.  Specifics for the match as well as divisions and firearm categories are listed on the GMSA Calendar and registration will again be on Practiscore. Don’t miss out on the fun!
Range To-Do-List and other projects
We would like to give thanks to the following volunteers for their continued work at the Club.
  • Thanks to the grass cutting volunteers for the month of April and May, the grounds look good!  If you have not signed up to help with the grass cutting detail, there are still slots and months available to do so if you would like to help.
  • Ronnie Milford, bush hog work.
  • Miles Gibby and his shooters for maintaining the grass and upkeep on the rifle range.
  • Bruce Grant and Michael Mayo, who pressure washed the concrete under the 50 yard range and also for volunteering to rebuild the benches under that shelter.
  • Last, but not least, a humble and sincere THANK YOU to all of the anonymous volunteers who drop by the club and do the small things without recognition.  We don’t always know who you are, but we do notice the work that you do.  Small things like bug spraying, range cleaning, trash can emptying and general housekeeping are noticed and very much appreciated.
  • To everyone who helps, Thank You and Good Job! Please keep up the good work!

Range work hours are easy to get, and there's something that anyone can do no matter how small the job. Help keep your club looking good.

We are now at the halfway point of the calendar year 2022.There’s still time to get your 10 range work hours logged before December 31st.Please remember that the range work credit is going to be worth $200 towards your 2023 annual club dues.
