The Lincoln Creek Greenway runs for six miles through Milwaukee’s northwest side from Havenwoods to Lincoln Park.  In its current state, it is characterized by neglect, inaccessibility, and illegal trash dumping.  We hope to bring together stakeholders and community advocates to focus on revitalizing and renewing the Lincoln Creek Greenway.  This initiative is inspired in part by the success of the Milwaukee River Greenway Coalition, a grass-roots effort that recently celebrated a 15-year anniversary.

Areal image of wild space along Lincoln CreekYou know we love to explore and discover new wild spaces in our urban midst.  Join us as we explore this 12-acre urban space along Lincoln Creek just north of the Urban Farm Collaborative (formerly Growing Power). Besides Lincoln Creek, there are ephemeral ponds and native and invasive vegetation to identify.  This will involve off-trail bushwhacking over uneven terrain, so sturdy hiking shoes and long pants are suggested. Join us in this short hike of discovery and imagine how this space might be activated. Please Register at this link so we'll know to expect you.  Enter Thurston Avenue from N. 60th St., one block north of Silver Spring. it's a bit tricky to find so we are providing this map link.
