Travel to Remote Aboriginal Communities
From today, travel restrictions to remote Aboriginal communities have been lifted.
However, some remote communities may choose to still apply their own restrictions to keep their community safe. Travelers are advised to always check with the community to see if there are any restrictions on entry. Those wanting to visit the communities are being requested to check with the local visitor’s centre in each region to ensure they have the most up to date information.

The COVID Transition (Consequential Revocations) Directions (No 3), revokes the Remote Aboriginal Communities Directions (No 5), which included the restriction on travel.
.
More information on travel to communities is available here.

Mandatory Vaccination
The Restrictions on Access (Revocation) Directions, which gave effect to the Government’s announcement regarding the removal of the Mandatory Vaccination requirements, to enter certain workplaces, are available.
The Chief Health Officer Advice, which informed the Government’s decision, is available here

The remaining workforces required to be vaccinated to enter their workplace are limited to those working with the most vulnerable in the community, to protect them from severe disease.

The affected workforces are:
  • healthcare and health support workers in hospitals and primary healthcare settings
  • workers in residential aged care
  • workers in residential disability settings.
The Directions relating to these workers are available here

After COVID
The Department of Health has provided some advice for those recovering from COVID-19.
Most people with COVID-19 will recover completely within a couple of weeks. The DoH advice includes:
  • how to look after your health after the acute infection has resolved
  • what to do if symptoms persist for an extended period
  • what to do if you’re exposed to COVID-19 again
  • what to do if you develop COVID-like symptoms again.
People diagnosed with COVID-19 and people who are close contacts should refer to the relevant advice available on HealthyWA.
