Dive Center news
The dive season starts with a bang!
With dive tourists returning to the Philippines since February, we have been lucky to have an absolutely incredible couple of months underwater. With flat seas and great visibility, the house reef has offered a resident school of barracudas, lots of turtles and all macro subjects you can think of. The coastline has been littered with frogfish, seahorses, nudibranchs and to our great surprise, octopus and cuttlefish have decided that it is their season too. We have seen blue ringed octopus, lots of flamboyant cuttlefish, as well as mimic and wonderpus. Let’s go diving! Greetings from our happy dive team – and our newly renovated dive vessel Victoria.

New Menu
Filipino fusion fine dining
Our restaurant and kitchen team has done it again they have created a menu that is as mouthwatering as it is original. In true Atmosphere style, we have wanted to retain the Filipino flavours in our kitchen whilst also adding a few classical fine dining items that guests will recognize. The menu is aptly called Ocean – not because it only includes seafood but because it is offered for guests who chose to book a private dining experience on the beach or in our tree house, that sits above the edge of the ocean. The menu also displays wine recommendations for all dishes, selected by our wine connoisseur, Ed Maranan. Bon appétit!

Excursions
Bird watching with Atmosphere
Upon popular request, Atmosphere has added bird watching to the excursion list. Lake Balinsasayao Twin Lakes natural park is a protected area around 45 kilometers from Atmosphere, set on the slopes of Mount Talinis. The bird life here is astounding, with around 150 bird species of which many can be seen near the borders of the two lakes.
Our bird watching tours begin early morning and depending on your energy level, we can take you on a shorter walk or extend it to a longer hike with the option of using a boat to cross the lake. We provide a bird watching guide, binoculars and literature containing the local birds in our area, making the tour even more worthwhile!

Atmosphere went to Tubbataha – after a 3 year wait!
When Covid hit, we had chartered the Philippines Siren of the Master Liveaboard fleet, not just once or twice, but three times in 2020. We also had bookings for 2021 and 2022, and when we finally made it onboard in May 2022, we could barely believe that it was real! Lucky for us and our guests, we had a beautiful week with flat seas, great visibility and lots of sharks – as well as a mantas. The next Tubbataha trip is scheduled for April 19-25 2023, followed by May 8-14 2024. Contact ulrika@atmosphereresorts.com for details. Photos 1, 3, 5 and 6 are taken by Jon Bertsch.

Traveling here has (almost) never been this easy!
The Philippines opened its borders in February and we have welcomed international tourists from near and afar with open arms. Last month, another step in the right direction when the Philippine government dropped the requirement for a negative Covid test for fully vaccinated and boosted visitors. For the exact information regarding entry requirements to the Philippines, please check this page on our website. We look forward to seeing you here! For bookings - or questions about an existing booking that you would like to amend, please contact us or your sales agent.
