Summer Line-Up
It's already been a busy summer and we're only two weeks into it! Kelli, Jack and I are on the final leg of our vacation through the rest of this week and are looking forward to returning with you all this Sunday in worship! We've already enjoyed the hospitality of friends in Las Vegas, a beautiful time in both Zion and Bryce National Parks before we've started to make our way home. God truly does paint with a beautiful palette in the places understandably known as "God's Country."
When I return we'll also return to Paul's letter to the Galatians, chapter 6:1-16, before I will be called away again to be in another place the following Sunday, July 10. Rev. Sylina Kidd, who responded to her call to ministry while she was here at LM1, will be preaching that Sunday, while I lead worship at her church, Julian Community. This is in preparation for me to spend a week with the elementary kids at Camp Cedar Glen there. Together we will finish our Sundays in July in Galatians before diving into the story of Nehemiah in August. This serves as inspiration before launching into a church-wide program called The Neighboring Movement. I'm excited to see how the Spirit will use us in this unique time of truly living out the greatest commandment, to "love our neighbors!"
There is so much to look forward to. God bless you all and we'll see you when we return!
Pastor Christian
I am so grateful that Rev. Cheryl Reagan is filling in for any pastoral emergencies while I am away. If need be, you can reach her here.

United Women in Faith Spotlight Safe Harbors
With the influx of Ukrainian refugees to our community, there isn't a more timely topic for the July 6 United Women in Faith meeting than the important work of the Safe Harbors Network. You are invited to hear Safe Harbors associate director Rev. Donald Owens and immigration manager Jimmy Marcelin describe the current efforts to increase housing options for refugees and asylum seekers. These efforts also include outfiting existing homes in San Diego for those in need. Join United Women in Faith at 1pm in the Social Hall on July 6 or on ZOOM.
In addition to meeting, UWF will be collecting feminine hygiene pads and all sizes of women's underwear to donate to Safe Harbors. Donations can be brought to the meeting, the church patio this Sunday or dropped off at the church office during regular office hours. You may also contact Debbie McDaniels-Lindsay for assistance. We look forward to joining you in ministry with our Safe Harbors community partners.

Send Encouragement to Cedar Glen Youth Campers
Summer camp is often a transformative experience in the life of a young person.
Time away from home, unfamiliar outdoor experiences and new relationships are all wonderful opportunities presented by camp. Those same factors can also make camp a little challenging for some. Letters from home, family members and trusted friends can help smooth the way and encourage children and youth on their journeys. If you'd like to mail a note or care package to any of our summer campers, here is where to send them:
Camper's Name Here
Camp here: Younger Elementary Camp Cedar Glen (7/10-7/13)
Older Elementary Camp Cedar Glen (7/10-7/15)
Junior High Camp Cedar Glen (7/3-7/8)
Senior High Camp Cedar Glen (6/26-7/2)
P.O. Box 2500
Julian, CA 92036
Here are the young people from our church attending Camp Cedar Glen this summer:

Staging a meaningful, fun experience like this for our community's children takes many hands. Would you consider helping out for one day or more? Click here to help with teaching, crafts, food preparation or supervision. There will be an informational meeting for all volunteers Thursday, July 7 at 5:30pm in the social hall.
