ANNOUNCEMENTS:

July/August Newsletter Deadline: Friday, June 17
Submit your news, announcements, events, photos, recipes, or whatever you wish to share in Prospect's July/August newsletter!

Farm Day: Saturday, June 18

The next farm day will be Saturday, June 18, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. If you are able, bring a potluck dish to share for lunch. There will be opportunities to walk in the woods, meet the animals, and see what’s growing.

Carpools are recommended. Do check the ferry schedule and any travel alerts. Lately the ferries have sometimes only run one boat on the Whidbey schedule instead of the usual two. In this case, the lines become very long. Usually there is an update late the night before saying which routes will have limited service.

Farm address: 4314 Crestmont Place, Clinton, WA 98236. (Note: When Google maps tells you to turn right onto Crestmont, turn left.)

Liturgists Needed for Summer Sundays
Thank you to everyone who has signed up to read in worship! We have openings for next Sunday, June 26, and all Sundays in July and August. Liturgists can be in-person or online. Please sign up here or contact the church office or Louise Morehead to volunteer.

Strengthen the Church
On June 12, we began receiving the annual Strengthen the Church Offering. It not too late to give! We will continue to receive this special offering through the month of June.

The Strengthen the Church (STC) Offering reflects the shared commitment of people across the United Church of Christ to cooperatively build up the UCC. Conferences and the national setting equally share the gifts given by members and friends through their local congregations. The funds raised support leadership development, new churches, youth ministry, and innovation in existing congregations. By your generosity to this offering, you build up the Body of Christ.

Donate online here, or make checks payable to Prospect Congregational UCC and indicate "STC" in the memo.

Juneteenth--The Songs of Black Folk: The Music of Resistance & Hope
Sunday, June 19
6:00 p.m.
McCaw Hall
321 Mercer St, Seattle, WA 98109
Mayor Harrell, in collaboration with community churches and the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, invites you to this free concert celebrating the Juneteenth Federal holiday. This concert celebrates and centers Negro Spirituals and the diverse musical traditions that have creatively evolved from them including, gospel music, jazz, R&B, hip hop, and more.
Join the concert’s artistic conductors as they guide our musical journey. Embrace with all communities this shared musical culture that has functioned as both a tool of resistance and a source of hope for Black people and communities in opposition to centuries of racism and oppression, white supremacy, and their unrelenting assault on Black lives and bodies.
This concert elevates and connects us as a human community by uplifting music as core to the African American struggle for freedom and justice. It allows us to recognize how these historic struggles are mirrored in the challenges so many Americans still face today in pursuit of an honored purpose and place.
Masks will be required.
