Seven Students Win Prestigious Study Abroad Scholarships
|
|
Seven Case Western Reserve students won the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship during the Spring 2022 application cycle, enabling them to offset costs and study abroad! The Gilman Scholarship is designed to offer students with limited financial means the opportunity to study or intern abroad to help them develop skills to aid in national security and economic prosperity.

In addition to the Gilman Scholarship, two students, Gibbs and Miller, also won scholarships from the Fund for Education Abroad, which supports underrepresented students in study abroad, including students of color and first-generation college students.
Study abroad advisors work with students on their FEA and Gilman Scholarship applications, and 100% of students who enlisted the help of study abroad advisors were awarded scholarships. |

- Fund for Education Abroad
- The Fund for Education Abroad awards scholarships of up to $5,000 to study abroad for a semester anywhere in the world! First-generation, LGBTQ+ and students of diverse backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply. Applications open July 1, 2022 for Spring 2023 study abroad programs.
- First Trip Scholarship
- This scholarship supports students who have never travelled outside of the United States. First Trip values the philosophy of global citizenship and promotes travel to non-traditional study abroad destinations. First Trip scholarships are awarded up to $1,500 and are determined by applicant need. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and applicants are encouraged to apply at least three months before their study abroad program starts.
- The CWRU Office of Education Abroad will be closed from June 27 until July 5, 2022. During that time, no advising appointments will be available. If you are a CWRU student and will be or are planning to study abroad, you are still able to meet with an advisor until June 25 or after July 6!
