June is a special month for prairies. We continue celebrating by featuring each Wednesday one of our many marvelous NPAT members -- Our Prairie People. It is a chance to recognize and give thanks to some of the many who inspire us to keep Texas prairie.

Lan Shen

Nobody around here knows seeds like Lan Shen. Especially one that gives life to a prairie plant.

Though Lan was trained and spent her working career as a chemist, she is best known in the Houston area as a master prairie seed collector, sharing them with coastal grassland enthusiasts throughout the Galveston Bay region.
