Fireworks Restrictions & How to Report Issues

Aurora remains under a Stage 1 Burn Restriction due to current weather/climate conditions to prevent both structural and wildland interface fires in the community. This restriction is temporarily lifted from June 15 through July 4 when certain types of fireworks are allowed. Fireworks that don't leave the ground or explode are allowed: fountains, wheels, sparklers, snakes and ground spinners. Prohibited fireworks include: firecrackers, bottle rockets, mortars, and roman candles.

Even legal fireworks can make loud noises that are startling to those suffering from anxiety or PTSD, and to pets. Be courteous and respectful to those in our neighborhood who suffer through the fireworks and may be trying to sleep.

The City of Aurora asks that non-emergency fireworks issues be reported using the Access Aurora online form. This will not trigger an immediate response but helps the city track major areas of concern and helps with enforcement. The 911 emergency line should only be used to report life threatening emergencies to ensure that lines remain open to help those in need of immediate help. Read more on their Fireworks information page.
