Dear Monhegan Community Member,
This letter is to inform you that individuals in our community recently tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). We are informing you out of an abundance of caution. If you have not already been notified that you were a close contact, then you are not.
If you are a close contact follow the US CDC guidance about quarantine, isolation, and when to test. This flow chart for close contacts may also help. Tests are available on the island if you have not placed an advance order for test kits online from a pharmacy or via a free source such as: https://special.usps.com/testkits. Check expiration dates.
If you have symptoms or test positive, it is important that you isolate immediately. Use the isolation guidance & isolation flow chart to guide you through the process of testing, isolating, and when to leave isolation.
If your lodging situation prevents fully isolating, or if you need to leave Monhegan or guidance is confusing, call/text 207-350-7512 or 207-691-7390 for local assistance & resources, including to arrange safe essential transport to the mainland.
COVID-19 symptoms can mirror mild seasonal allergies, a cold or flu. If you or someone you know has COVID-19 like symptoms it is very important to seek testing before going to work or otherwise interacting with others.

It is strongly encouraged that anyone with COVID-19 symptoms or testing positive, immediately contact us to help individuals get the care they need, as well as minimize transmission impacts on the community. The more you do, the less we have to.
