Keeping our Community and Staff Safe
The current public health and major emergency related to Covid-19 has impacted all of us.
The Regional Council of Goyder is no different. Because of the current public health and major emergency, it is necessary for Council to make some changes to the way in which it conducts its business.
When visiting Council buildings where there is public access, we require that staff and members of the community observe hygiene and distancing requirements.
We also encourage members of the public, where possible, to arrange appointments for Council services before coming in to the Council offices to ensure that we are meeting current distancing and density requirements.
During these changing times, we are constantly keeping our service delivery under review. We will keep you informed of any further changes.
For important information related to Covid-19 in South Australia visit: https://www.covid-19.sa.gov.au

CUSTOMER FEEDBACK TO COUNCIL:
We continue to work on the sprinkler / irrigation system and are very excited for super effective summer watering.
The major upgrade of adding steps to the BBQ area by Council is fantastic. It is a work in progress and will make access to that area so much easier. A real highlight. Am sure we will be planning another ribbon cutting ceremony.
In summary, we are delighted with progress and council works over the last few months. Always a lot to do but very satisfying. We often chat to travellers who are impressed by the area.
Kind regards
Burra Creek Gardeners

The Fred Awards
WHO’S THE FRED IN YOUR WORLD?
Professor Fred Hollows was a great Australian who had great faith in the humanitarian nature of everyday Australians. The Fred Awards recognise this type of everyday humanitarianism that Fred believed in.
The Fred Awards celebrate people who care for others in a decent, practical, and no-nonsense way – just like Fred did.
As part of the Fred Awards The Fred Hollows Foundation are searching Australia-wide for a national Fred Hollows Humanitarian – someone who embodies kindness, compassion and integrity in their everyday lives. Someone who puts others first.
The Fred Hollows Foundation believes every community has a Fred Hollows – the volunteer, the compassionate carer, or the advocate. Someone who goes out of their way to care for others and create a more egalitarian world.
Nominations for the Fred Awards close Friday 22 July.

Free breast cancer screening in Tanunda – it’s a lifesaver
BreastScreen SA is coming to Tanunda from mid-June – September 2022, to provide free breast cancer screening (breast X-rays) to healthy women aged 50 to 74 years, helping to detect breast changes that are too small to feel.
Each year nearly 100,000 South Australian women book their screening mammogram at BreastScreen SA, but this represents only 59% of women who are eligible.
A woman’s risk of developing breast cancer increases with age (1 in 9 South Australian women will be diagnosed before she turns 75). By finding breast cancer early, more lives can be saved and treatments can be simplified.
? BreastScreen SA’s Mobile Screening Unit will be located at the car park behind the Soldiers Memorial Hall, Basedow Road, Tanunda, from mid-June to September 2022. Appointments are free and can take as little as 10 minutes.
Call BreastScreen SA on 132050 to book or visit www.breastscreen.sa.gov.au to find out more.
