Dear Members,

Please see below the proposed constitution changes for our Annual General Meeting on the 1st July 2022.
 
Amendment 1 to Para 5.4(a)
Current Wording
“Para 5.4(a) The Life Membership Committee shall consist of three (3) Life Members elected at the Annual General Meeting.”
Moved Murray Geneff, Seconded Terry Colby that Para 5.4 (a) be changed to read
“Para 5.4(a) The Life Membership Committee shall consist of five (5) Life Members elected at the Annual General Meeting.”
Note if successful, then as consequence, Para 3.1(a) Elected Office Bearers will need amending to change Life Member Committee to 5 Members.
 
Amendment 2 to Para 4.1(p)
Current Wording
“Para 4.1(p) Constitution Committee Members:
The interpretation of this Constitution and its Bylaws shall be the duty of the Constitution Committee Members as per Para 5.3 and Para 9.3.”
Moved Constitution Committee that Para 4.1(p) be changed to read
“Para 4.1(p) Constitution Committee Members:
The interpretation of this Constitution and its Bylaws shall be the duty of the Constitution Committee Members.”

Amendment 3 to Para 6.1
Proposed name change of the Committee.
Moved Garry Bunford, Seconded by Leif Hinrichsen,
“The Beach Committee be renamed the Life Saving Committee”
Note if successful, then as consequence there are nine references to Beach Committee throughout the Constitution that will need changing because of this amendment.
 
Amendment 4 to Para 6.1(a)
Current Wording 6.1(a)
“The Beach committee shall consist of seven (7) Officers; the Life Saving Director, the Assistant Life Saving Officer, IRB Officer, Education Officer, Patrol Officer, First Aid Officer and Gear Officer. Four (4) shall form a quorum”
Moved Garry Bunford, Seconded by Leif Hinrichsen, that para 6.1(a) be amended to include two new officers, Water Safety / Events Officer and Project Officer. New Para6.1(a) to read
“The Life Saving committee shall consist of nine (9) Officers; the Life Saving Director, the Assistant Life Saving Officer, IRB Officer, Education Officer, Patrol Officer, First Aid Officer, Gear Officer, Watery Safety / Events Officer and Project Officer. Four (4) shall form a quorum”
 
Amendment 5 to Para 13(a)
Current Wording 13(a)
“(a) The Club colours shall be Light Green, Dark Green and White.”
Moved Constitution Committee that Para 13(a) be changed to read
“(a) The Club Colours shall be Light Green (Pantone PMS 3302), Dark Green (Pantone PMS 802) and White (Pantone White)”
 
 
Amendment 6 to Para 13(b)
Current Wording 13(b)
“(b) At any Annual General Meeting the Club may reconsider the design of its swimming costume, uniform and badges, provided that no further alteration shall take place for a period of three (3) years. The Business and Marketing Director shall record the design.”
Moved Constitution Committee that Para 13(b) be changed into two paragraphs to read
“(b) The design of the Club Logo and Badge may be reconsidered at any AGM of the Club, provided no further alteration shall take place for a period of three (3) years. Their design and use shall be recorded in the Bylaws”
(c) The design of the Uniform and swimming costume may be reconsidered at any time by the Board, provided no further alteration shall take place for a period of three (3) years. Their design and use shall be recorded in the Bylaws”
 
Amendment 7 to Para 13(b)
Assuming amendment six above is successful, then
Moved Andrew Ridley, Seconded by David Tasker that “new Para 13(c) be removed”
If Amendment six not successful then,
Current Wording 13(b)
“(b) At any Annual General Meeting the Club may reconsider the design of its swimming costume, uniform and badges, provided that no further alteration shall take place for a period of three (3) years. The Business and Marketing Director shall record the design.”
Moved Andrew Ridley, Seconded David Tasker that Para 13(b) be changed to read
“(b) Any change to the Club Badge / Logo (including the length of time for use of proposed logo change) will need ratification at an Annual General Meeting.
The Business and Marketing Director shall record the design.
The Club logo design and use shall be set out as shown in the By Laws.”
